Just had a text with password. Correct me if wrong but suspect it was sent to all sky poker players who are on SMS list? Unimpressed by lack of response from sky here. Not aimed at Tikay who is on a different continent and crushing 4 card tourneys. How can you justify advertising an exclusive promotion then making it totally non exclusive? Posted by Phantom66
I had a reply back, Mr POTO.
As I understand it, that SMS was ONLY sent to Sky Bet Club Members, which, if correct, confirms it is exclusive to Sky Bet Clubbers.

Thanks, for the reply and yes I am.
Last week the issue seemed to be that non-Sky Bet members got the text and entered which had me and others a touch miffed.
It's a good promo, encourages cross-site play which must be good for the site (it worked on me - I have never been a skybet member until this promo) and the tourneys themselves have offered great value, especially the FR but the £2 had overlay and looks like the £5 will too.

unfortunately i dont get them either,
I have queeried it a few times and had been told it had been rectified but no luck as yet.
Please contact customer care if you haven't received the SMS, sometimes our communications have a control group on, so this maybe the reason you haven't received the password.
Our CC have been briefed on this, so they'll be more than happy to help.
Rebekah: That is the number we have on our system, not sure as to why you haven't received it. We have had a few customers asking the same so it does appear that we have had a problem with our text system

Hope you're well, I'm posting here as I've just seen this thread and you have already replied and have had contact from management.
I only found out about this tournament because I received an sms for the HTT on 21st June, which I entered and played.
I then checked the promo page and they showed that this was for betting more than £25 the previous week, which I had, so I thought I would bet and qualify for it again today.
However I did not receive one for today and when I went to customer chat, they said I was not part of Sky Bet club so had to bet £40 between 13 - 19th June at evens or above to qualify and that I had only staked £38, so did not.
I obviously was completely unaware of this because I had received the SMS password and then checked the promo page (which only mentions the £25 and that only qualifying customers would be contacted) so took it in good faith that I must be a Sky Bet member for this to have happened.
Customer care were not willing to accept or take this into consideration and said I had not qualified as per the rules.
I've now double checked my account and can see I staked over £50 at evens or above between 13 - 19th June so should have qualified anyway!
I have asked for a manager to contact me about this, which cc said they would do within 24hrs so I will see what they say, but not happy with how this has been dealt with so far at all.
I'm sorry if any of this sounds like a rant, it's not meant to be, but felt like posting my experience after seeing this thread.
Hi Jingle, long time no see, Walsall about 7 years ago was the last time iirc? Many years ago, you and I see to play a lot of NLH SNG's, but you and that pesky Nutter kid cleaned me out, and I had to move to the greener pastures of the 4 card game.
Sorry if there has been confusion on this. All I can do is pass it on to the right Suits, which I will certainly do.

Thanks for the reply Tikay,
Yes I'm very good thanks and good memeory! That was a 'oh so nearly' moment for me in Walsall when I bubbled AK v AQ against Simon Deadman I think, poker players never forget the losses lol. (Although I luckboxed my way to get there anyway!)
Yes in the overall scheme of things this is a very minor issue, just not happy how it's been with dealt with is all.
Hope you're doing great other than dealing with annoying forum posters like me, are you still in Vegas? I've checked out your blog and it's excellent, I'll try and join you next year! :-)
So I typed it into a well known search engine and landed on a page of a dictionary of urban phrases.
1. Phantom of the Opera
Mystery solved.
But then, I read on and I must admit I am a bit nervous now.
2. word in spanish popular in south america,(non-ofensive).
"a.ss" in english
that girl has a great poto!!!
3. noun. Acronym for Pointing Out The Obvious. Used when referring to someone who likes to point out the obvious.
But of most concern (and I hope Gill never reads the forum).
5. A potential lover or compatible friend. Not to be confused with a crush. A POTO is someone you could see yourself with but don't have immediate feelings for
Just wanted to say that I was called back by Harry today from the Sky complaints team and his service was superb and resolved my issue on the spot after looking at my situation fairly and in depth.
Great follow up by Sky after the disappointment of last night.

Very pleased to hear that, & apologies there was an issue in the first place.

I just checked, that Walsall final was 1st May 2011. Simon Deadman went on to finish 3rd, never a disgrace losing to Simon. Ryan Spittles looked like he might win it, but he ran a bluff & the eventual winner, Alan Mansbridge, made an amazing call.
I'm really pleased this matter got sorted eventually.
"annoying forum posters"? Not at all. 95% of all complaints come from 5% of the player base, & yes, they do get a bit tiresome with all their hyperbole, ("ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING!!!") but I don't recall you ever complaining before, & your question was couched in civil & polite terms. Never mind dealing with those.
And yes, am still in Vegas, living the dream. It's wonderful, & I'm very lucky.

Answer # 1 is CORRECT.
Just to confirm as to your original comment/post, which confused me slightly, the SMS was only sent to Sky Bet Club Members, so I assume that includes you. What made you think it was sent to everyone, if you don't mind me asking?
Hope all is good with you, & you are keeping the PLO8 DYM tables going.

The 2nd week of the skybet HTT promo, people posted here that they had got the password from an SMS and were not in SkyBet Club and they entered.
I feared (wrongly as it turns out) that the same had happened again as there had been no clarification after the 2nd week complaints.
I know there were ongoing issues with people who followed the promotion and knew they had qualified not getting notification, that is generally sorted fine through CC. Ideally there shouldn't be any issues at all but we don't live in a perfect world do we.
IMO people who know about the promotion having to contact CC to get in is a much lesser problem than people who didnt know about it, or qualify for it, managing to get in anyway.
I repeat - enjoyed the promo and glad I entered. Got £60 back on the 3 tourneys for £7 entry and a flip or 2 more could have been alot more. Even if I hadn't won the added value was worth the entry. Cost me 3*£25 bets which luckily are just about holding up too.
Infrequent on the PLO8 and poker tables in general - wont elaborate but there is a sad reason behind that.

I can only suggest you contact Customer Care.
