If you have windows vista you can follow the instruction below:

Speed up with windows vista

 

1. click on Start
2. click on control panel
3. double click on system
4. click on advanced system settings
5. click continue
6. click on advanced tab
7. click on settings in performance
8. Highlight Custom
9. Uncheck all boxes apart from – Use visual styles on Windows and buttons
10. Click OK
11. Click OK
