Sky Poker's Sunday Night BIG THREE
Quick reminder that the 3 biggest Guarantees on MTT's this evening are, under the new Schedule, earlier than many expected last week.
Here's the timeline;
7pm - £55 Entry, £8,000 Guarantee, SUPER REBUY
7.30pm - £33 Entry, £5,000 Guarantee BOUNTY HUNTER
8pm - £110 Entry, £15,000 Guarantee, SUNDAY MAJOR
The BH & Sunday Major both performed well last Sunday. However, the Super Rebuy bombed, & ended with far too much overlay. If it falls well short again tonight, I'd expect the Guarantee to be reduced, or the event moved or replaced. Not a threat, just a fact.
Be interesting to see how it performs.
The VBOL whatever you play tonight.

MTT Overlays are NEVER good, either for players or The Business. As players we may think it's great, but that's a very short sighted view, & we, the players, will suffer eventually if MTT's don't make Guarantee regularly.
I don't believe the Adobe problem has been solved, no, but most players seem to have found a workaround, & the Data suggests that traffic is on the up, so hopefully it is not affecting too many. It needs solving though, on that we agree.
Good luck at the Tables.
PS - whereabouts in West Sussex are you? One of my favourite counties, & I spend a good bit of time down there.
Sam & James allow me - well tolerate me - to contribute to the internal debate on these Guarantees, & last week I argued very hard that some of these new & ambitious Guarantees need some time to bed in, & settle, before they get cut.
FWIW - very little I expect - I can't reasonably suggest to them to hold the £8,000 Guarantee on this much longer.
They might, I've no idea, but it just makes no sense to keep throwing good money after bad.
The new MTT Schedule is coming together nicely, but still needs tweaking, & the Super Rebuy might well come under the microscope now. It's not like we never tried, I made all the noise I could about it yesterday.
Personally, if I were playing a £55 Rebuy, I'm not even sure I'd attempt the satellite route. I'd be expecting to have, at the very minimum, 1 Rebuy plus the Add-On, so I'm in for £155 already. Saving £30 or so on the initial entry would not make a deal of difference if my planned spend was £155 minimum.
Used to rent a cottage in Shoreham & go admire Shoreham Power Station. Not the new one, the old Brighton B Power Station, which was coal-fired. Think it was the largest brick built structure in the UK at one time, & coal was delivered by boat from South Wales & the like.
There are 2 poker rooms in Brighton, Grosvenor, almost opposite Brighton Pier. & Rendezvous, down by the Marina. The Grovesnor is not my cup of tea at all - parking is a nightmare, & the thing is three floors up. The Rendezvous, in contrast, is perfect in most ways. Free Parking right outside, no need to sign in, friendly staff, they give you free biscuits with tea & coffee, & the local Clientele are a right bunch of characters. James Dempsey, who won a WSOP Bracelet a few years ago, & with whom I have some business interests (we have a website where we set fire to money), plays there frequently, as do a whole bunch of lovable rogues including retired bookmakers, Estate Agents, dodgy car dealers, spivs & all sorts. Cracking place to play relaxed poker.
Again, it's something of an oddity to have a satellite to a rebuy, imo, though fair to say, the rebuy rate is this particular event is extremely low compared to most Rebuys.
I honestly have no idea if they will hold that £8,000 Guarantee any longer, but if it were my decision (it's absolutely not) or my money (ditto) I'd not do so. If it were your money, I doubt you would, either.
