Live games

edited November 2016 in The Poker Clinic
Just wondering if anyone knows the maximum sit down at the empire casino in London for the 1/2 games? Have e-mailed them a while back and got no reply. Have even played there before but can't remember. May have something to do with the fact I left winning and got drinking Jameson lol. I remember I loved some homeless blokes dog on the way back to the train station. Wouldn't take any money and so being the friendly drunk I brought him a pizza and shoved some notes in the box. Fancy going again as I enjoyed the experience. Maybe it's the same as other casinos so if anyone knows be good to hear.

Also what would be considered a good win rate for live poker? Seeing as you can't multi table. On a 1/2 game what would you sort of expect.

Hey smilewiper. Not played at The Empire for a while, but from memory I think it's £400 max at £1/2 or half the largest stack. The games there and up the road at the Hippodrome can get pretty deep pretty quickly at the right times, though. I'm planning on playing in both a reasonable amount in December. As for win rate, the way I've been running/playing live recently, anything approaching losing less than a buy-in per hour is decent.

Hi many thanks for the reply. Nice to know others from here visit places local to me. It's only around 15minutes on the train and a short walk from the station. I've only ever visited the empire but I really enjoyed it, the winning part helped with that I guess lol. Can't say if it was busy when I went or not as only been the once but got a game straight away. Everyone at the table was really friendly and the dealer was helpful once they knew it was my first time playing live. I don't play this stake online but of course it was the smallest you could get at the casino. Didn't feel intimidated by the pots being bigger than I'm used to as being honest I expected to loose and was just there for a night out. I'm gonna visit there at some point in December too. So if you happen to see an amazingly good looking bloke with the body of a God feel free to come say hello haha.

Haha, will do. Good that you weren't intimidated. I felt hugely out-of-sorts (and was really shaky) the first time I played live. It's better now, though. Glgl.
