Final Table Chopping Prize Money option

edited February 2017 in Poker Chat
Hi, myself and a couple of friends play regularly online, but we find it really strange how Sky doesnt offer the opportunity to chop the prize money on the final table of tournaments. Nearly all the other big sites offer this option if the others on the table agree so just thought it may be something that could be brought to attention as the prize gaps can be quite significant, especially in bigger tournaments?
Appreciate any comments

I personally think it should be allowed deal making is an art form... you can often gain a bigger edge making deals than playing I know mate st will disagree

Yeah i think making a deal at final tables should definetly be implemented.

It's a win win for all involved.

The only problem I see is sky is mostly bounty hunters and afaik chopping bounties is problematic, and half the prize pool is bounties so you get spots where by chopping and playing out for the bounties basically makes close to no difference in payouts.

Not sure just because other sites do it that Sky should. It's good to be different. Although I suppose if I didn't want to do a deal I could just ignore the button. Would imagine the reason is closer to what Skoota has said.

How do other sites get around deal making on bounty hunters seeing as the format had become more and more popular?

other sites take a week to pay you jacquesb you ungrateful t0sser, as well as taking a percentage of your cashout.

Yeah it's only if all the remaining players on final table agree to it. For example, on 888 poker, they have a button you can click on the FT to discuss a deal as does stars. Live play is the same if all agree. It's just a thought. Also, deals never usually split all the prize money, there is still normally some to play for, so it wouldn't affect the bounty heads side of it as you still have to play on for the top prize

Sorry I posted it below on my other comment, but basically if a deal was wanted then a deal would be agreed but there'd still be a small amount to play for to decide 1st, 2nd, 3rd which would mean there would be no issues with sorting the bounties out.

Of the software improvements sky needs I would of thought this is quite low down the priority list. I cant see many situations arising where players would want to deal. Something like auto rebuy/add on would be far more beneficial to the majority of MTT players than the option to deal.

Although deal making should be implemented I also agree it's quite far down the list of things that need addressing

Sky could easily do deals via the chat box on the biggest tournaments, like UKOPS high roller/main event-final table only sort of thing.

Even above your 'majority' of players, 100 % of MTT players would like the simple option to open lobbies whilst playing tournaments. Having to reboot to achieve this isn't ideal. I thought you may of pursued this last time Mr Bates, when after you mentioned it, Sky nearly listened.

As for OP, I honestly believe it would not benefit Sky due to the number in the player pool.

This isn't on the to do list guys. You would need someone monitoring every final table to adjudicate and we don't have the resources for that.

Hi , i think best not to chop , many enter to win the top prize if they run good.
I also think getting down to H/up and low numbers is a great experience for many player,
who may find themselves playing live FT no deal allowed...ie DTD .
Often at my live local casino they tend to want to do a deal at last 4/5 , if im playing i usuall
say no as i want the experience ( and if against players that always do deals then you can have an edge ).
I am sure if it was a major payout tournament i would quickly " bottle it " and go for the $  !
