We had the absolute pleasure of spending the week with Gary on our Punta Cana trip in 2015. He made me smile with his mischievous nature; he showed me how to sneak a cocktail whilst we were in the queue to check into the hotel. His laugh was infectious.
Awful news, can hardly believe it. Condolences to Gary's' family and everyone that knew him. Seems so sudden, does anyone know if Gary was unwell or was this unexpected?
Sad to hear the news. One of the players I always noticed when on the tables. It seems from what others have said that he was the perfect gentleman too.
R.I.P Sir Gary. Always found him to be a fierce competitor, didnt know anything about him, I assumed the way he was running the game this year he was some 21yr old hot shot, certainly played that way at times.
Please find cut and paste below from an email from my Aunt who met, Sir-Gary and his wife when we were at Punta Cana in 2015:

Hi Grae,
That is really sad news about your poker chum Gary. When I saw the photo I remembered him immediately. He was a lovely man. What a shock for you all and of course his family. If you contact his family, and it feels appropriate, do pass on my condolences to them.
As for TK, as you say ,he has had a lucky break. Those stents are marvellous and I hope he will soon be feeling better than he has for ages.
Just picked up on this thread having been away for a few days.
I played on the same table as Gary on many occasions over what seems like several years and always had the greatest respect for him and his poker game.
