    Hi. I will be doing a small Jackpot tomorrow (just for myself) with three "bankers", so only a small perm.

    The "bankers" being: TOP NOTCH in the 1st, DEFI DU SEUIL in the 2nd and BUVEUR D'AIR in the 4th

    In all likelihood one banker will probably not come in, but it's just a little punt for a small outlay.

    You may choose to have a punt yourself, but I would suggest, other than the bankers, you make your own choices in the other legs (or you may just like to have two bankers and add another selection in). So we don't "double up" too much on the same combos reducing the dividend.

    My choices as it stands at moment are: (These are subject to change based on a more thorough read of the form and market moves nearer the time)

    Decided to do two separate perms in case Cloudy Dream who was a good 2nd to Altior wins the first. But I still prefer the diminutive Top Notch

    If you do decide to do something like this, I'd mix up the selections a bit. Although only spend what you can afford, as I said previously, I expect a banker or two may let us down, so it's a bit of a punt. If £36 is too steep, perhaps a perm like 1*1*2*1*2*4 would give you some interest for £8.

    Thanks Vaigret. I noticed they are both 25/1 which is a bit too big for this type of bet, but may have a little pop on them singly.

    To be fair to you it was a bad request from me as there are very few runners left that are 20/1 or less, but I've gone for Balnaslow as my 3rd choice in the 4.05, at a current price of 9/1.

    I need a little help with the 4.40.

    I need six selections, but ideally nothing bigger than 16/1, as real outsiders don't cover enough of a percentage of the betting market.

    So we are ideally looking away from the favourites which are over-represented in the pool, but also not too big an outsider that widens the perm size required, for little coverage.

    Make sense?

    Thanks for this Wynne, I will definately go with Theinval in the 4.40, and I might actually do another perm with the three bankers, with yours and vaigret's suggestions for the 4.05, I'll see. (After all that leg is over the Grand National fences, I believe, so a lively outsider might not be a bad idea after all.)

    Thanks Vaigret, I take your point, and will add at least one of them to one of the perms.

    I will still need the bankers to come in too, but doing it on my own, I can't go too wide, cos it would cost a fortune.

    So DEFI DU SEUIL and BUVEUR D'AIR must win for me to have any chance at all :=)

    I'd be happy with a decent spin and a bit of a sweat tbh, as I know my perm isn't really wide enough, but this is the difficulty faced when one is on one's own.

    I think Syndication is the way forward. Hopefully. :=)

    Looking at the market moves in the first race, I would prefer to have Flying Angel as my 2nd choice as opposed to Cloudy Dream.

    This is the difficulty in as much as trying to get the bets on in a timely manner, but waiting for the latest info.

    Lets hope TOP NOTCH wins anyway

    There was some late money for Flying Angel and if I had waited longer I would definately had him in the perm, but the trouble is, you run the opportunity of not getting the bet on in time.

    Top Notch was dissappointing, probably a bounce back from Cheltenham.

    Again this is an advocate for having a syndicate, as Flying Angel would be in a wider perm for sure.

    Bit dissapointing, but at least it was only my money (and Max's by the looks of it), that was lost.

    Flying Angel came in from 7/1 to 5/1 at the last minute, which is exactly the type of runner we want, as it is likely to be under-represented in the Jackpot Pool. Conversly, Cloudy Dream drifted from 5/2 to 4/1 just before the off.

    The trouble is, it was just in the last few minutes before the race and trying to put several big perms on doesn't allow you much time.

    It's a shame as it was an opportunity that got away for sure.
