Out of position play is my worst, so any tips on how you would play this would be helpful..

I know i got tptk but are you ready to go all in here if you raise and he shoves?

    Twas a small stakes sng..

Your bet is pretty weak, less than half the pot, so he either senses a weakness and is raising with a bluff or drawing hand, or he slow played aa/kk pre flop and is worried off the flush and straight draw. Without knowing previous play I'm probably lay it down as you don't really know where you are in the hand. I would have bet 3/4 or maybe pot and if he re-raises than again I'm folding.

This is a tough hand to play out of position now.
Personally if I don't have any reads on the Villain then I bet out 3/4 of pot on flop and with his re raise I instantly fold, he could be playing KJ and scared of the FD or even he may be on a FD himself but trying to hide that fact by representing the King himself which make it harder for you to put him on a FD imo.

However if you have reads on this player and he is a LAG then you can play it differently and re raise him but it all depends on your reads really!!

99% of the time I fold and wait for a better spot mate!!

I'm definitely laying this down. Your weak bet on the flop has encouraged him to raise it up and you dont know whether he has you beaten or not. Most likely he's got KJ or a flush draw. You'll only find out by shoving and you don't want to take that risk.

cant really believe you can lay this down to be honest you played AK and hit your top pair with top kicker! your bet on the flop does look weak as its smaller than your preflop raise and i think your opponent has sensed that and there is every chance he is raisin you with a flush draw, weaker king or even air!. i would have been bettin at least the pot here to give you a better idea of where you are at. but anyway the fact you say it was a small stakes sitngo would definatly have me leaning towards re-raising here or infact just shovin! if he has KJ so be it! but thats just me im an aggressive player.

I canny believe what Im seeing!!! Its a sit n go right? 2 paid? 1s wins alot, 2nd gets money back, and a tiny bit more....

I wanna get it all in a.s.a.p! Raise him!! He's limp calld pre! If he does happen to have KJ, ur UL ad have outs, get it innnnnnnnnn!

People play back at me alot with junk, maybe that influences me hre, just raise it, and go for the win!

    Totally agree with that DOHHHHHHH.

TBH, I'm betting more on the flop to begin with (AT LEAST 3/4 the pot) but personally, I'm re-raising here and am definitely leaning towards shoving.

You said this was a small stake SnG (I'm guessing maybe £1/£2 ish?) so a lot of players are raising with 2nd pair or worse & sometimes even nothing at all simply because either A) they just don't believe you or B) they see the top players make bluffs/semi-bluffs & believe that's what most of the game is about.

Get 'em in all day, every day for me.

Bigger pre flop, more on the flop, now you have 3 options, 1) fold putting him on 44, 2) re-raise flop and get it in now, 3) call and get it in on the turn. up to you :) I dont like option 1 though.

Thanks for the responce guys, appreciate it..

..Yeah i agree my flop bet was weak, i wasnt fully paying attention and thought pot was 200 for 1/2 pot bet but i think i should of bet 3/4 straight out.

In this example i had seen this guy slowplay anything decent till the river and raising with draws/bluffs alot, so i put him on more q10/flush draw and if he had kj so be it and like you say its only a small stakes sng so might aswel go all out for the win..

So i thought shoving would be best as theirs not many raises i can make him fold, so i shoved and got snapped by a 9 high flush!!lol...but thats not the point, i just suck at oop play and thought this was an ok example of where i sometimes struggle with what to do..

After the flop you're a 69% favourite so you're going to win 2 times in 3. Do you want to risk your tourny for those odds? One time in three you are virtually out of the tourny and two times in three you're fairly well placed to cash.
