REMOVERS SPREADSHEET FOR CHESTER TODAY (FRI 12TH MAY 2017)

edited May 2017 in Betting Chat
As is the norm I will not take part in the removals, but I would add Canny Kool for consideration in the last.

SL "Canny Kool was headed in the closing stages over 6f here in August and has a shout on that form if allowed his own way in front."

RP "Absent since a poor run last June but worth checking the level of market confidence on return; looks interesting on 2015 form, notably his second in a good-ground Listed race here, and has the plum draw today."

    Hi guys, please remove 12.

I have narrowed it down quite a bit, maybe too much, so if you want me to put any back in, please let me know ASAP.

i know i only managed to get 8 in and really struggled here, i think we all will have meetings like this, only reason i put rich and famous in is because of the draw. i really like the horse but has work cut out today.

Sorry I couldn't do the removers today, too much to do with the other stuff.

I think we can only score SNUFFERS today, as he was the only one who did the full amount.

It only really works when we all do the allotted amount. it is a shame participation has dwindled as it is an important task that should run alongside the NAP's selections.

Well done to SNUFFER for completing the task.

Perhaps when we go for it next time, more will contribute (myself included, I just was really pushed and had to look at the statistical angle).

I can make the numbers of selections lower, but it's the tough removals that I am trying to get to, the difficult choices that have to be made. If I just said remove 5, five big outsiders go and we get nothing of value from the exercise.

It is when I have to make a tough removal that I look at your choices, but if not enough have been removed, it doesn't help me as the two I might be umming and arghing about are potentially on no-one's list. This exercise when we go for a multi-perm option is even more critical, so disappointing that Snuffer was the only full contributor.

I would say going forward, if you are going to participate, it's all or none.

I really hope people choose all, otherwise we lose a valuable part of the exercise which diminishes our chance of success.

    Cheers,

    G

I agree with you graham but today was just a bad day for me. I was all over the place trying to get removers in and trying to find a winner for naps and I just failed miserably.
I didn't want to just remove anything and cloud your judgement and was sure most of the favourites was going to get best and just got myself in a mess really trying to rush which didn't help 1 little bit.
I should of looked last night but was exhausted so just glanced.

anyway my future plan is study might before and finalize selections when you put spreadsheet up like I did in 90% of the trails and Thursday's card.

It is a shame but as yourself and Mickey have already said circumstances made it impossible for you to contribute fully to the removals.

Obviously people are not always available due to work and other commitments but as you say the more info you have the chances of winning are increased long term, if you are not happy with limited outside help that particular day maybe abandon the attempt that day and wait for a better opportunity?

Anyway it's early days for the syndicate and some positive results so far.

    Good Luck going forward.

PS can someone check my results please :)

  • edited May 2017
it looks like from the posts above or lack of them and people unable to remove means that it probably wasn't a runner to go for it.

Also Graham and other helpers have to do so much when we go for it, going two days running is just too much for us all. Obviously if really big rollover then go for it but run of the mill £10000's, NEVER THOUGHT I WOULD EVER SAY THAT, might be a step too far  logistically .

No problem Micky. Like I say, I was at fault here too, just so much on and needed to get some sleep previous evening. So I understand that, it's just it would be a shame to not have much input to go on.

Like I said before, I am a statistics and probability guy, I look to others for specifics surrounding horse form.

    Cheers,

    G

    Ok, I agree.

But if I do that, people have to remove the required number though, otherwise pointless if people just remove a few outsiders.

Tbh Graham when reading up on the other horses in that race it was never really mentioned in good light so it could have been, but it was tough to remove 12 today so may have stayed in.

Maybe We should pay more attention to the ones not selected but then if we all mentioned ones you didn't select it would sew seeds and the perms would be out of control and you would remove winners in their place, it's a fine line but good fun none the less!

Maybe today was a stretch too far after yesterday's good result, you must have been shattered after your 'all nighter' but I guess it's the buzz of racing that keeps us all wanting more!

    Hi R.

I did make the following statement on the OP today:

"I have narrowed it down quite a bit, maybe too much, so if you want me to put any back in, please let me know ASAP."

I will leave more in next time and ask people to remove more as a result.

However, that strategy is only going to work if we have plenty of people doing a full set of removals. (Not a good turn out yesterday or today) Thank god for SNUFFER and he's not even in the syndicate, but is doing a sterling job for us with the removals.

Maybe next GO-LIVE we'll get more "remover" input with that regard.

    Cheers,

    G

Yes, I wssn't having a dig mate. It is natural to do the easier ones first, but the meat is in the last few. :=)

I never look at this thread coz I'm not in the syndicate and I would hate for it to go down on something I'd suggested you take out. I think it's easier to concentrate on the horses you definitely want in any perm.
Today at Chester looked difficult, but as we saw, many of the bankers did actually win, so it might be better to concentrate on your main strategy and pick 1 banker, so that you can have multiple choices in the difficult races.
It's amazing to see that the Sporting Life Pick7 went down on the last leg the last 2 days, meaning the people had picked the winners of the first 6 races with just 1 choice in each race.

    Thanks for this Mist.

I think by optimising and combining both the NAP's selections and the removal choices, we can get the best results.

Often horses at fairly big prices 10/1, 12/1 type things are not picked as NAP's but if they are not removed and come in it's a potential perm buster for others, whilst we may still be in.

Regarding the pick 7, yes they have done well from a single line, but I reckon as it's free, there will be literally 10's of thousands of people doing it.

    Cheers,
