After the PLO8 BH attracted record numbers last week I was going to post asking if a couple of the large gaps in the OH8 MTT schedule could be filled with some more PLO8 BHs. I wasn't sure if traffic would justify it though so I recorded the tourney results over the last week and also the performance of the PLO8 BHs by day of the week over the last few weeks.
Cliffs...
The BHs only account for 3 of the 8 regular daily OH8 MTTs but last week brought in over double the rake £323.90 compared to the non BH games £160.30. It therefore seems logical that some more PLO8 BHs would offer players more games and be profitable to Sky.
Traffic overall looks pretty good although is tailing off slightly towards the end of the month, probably for obvious reasons.
The new £2.20 PLO8 BH at 5:30pm was put into a huge gap at an unfavourable time slot but has met the guarantee every day this week and seems very steady indeed and is the 4th best regular OH8 MTT in relation to rake generation. It therefore doesn't seem to make much sense to have an almost 3 hour gap in the schedule before this tourney and a 1 hour 45 minute gap afterwards. A couple of low buy in PLO8 BHs would likely do well and balance the schedule.
The two £5.50 PLO8 BHs seem very strong overall and are the top 2 PLO8 MTTs in relation to rake generation.
Sunday traffic looks very strong and a weekly higher buy in game would likely do well. Maybe a £33 with a £500 guarantee and the weekly league prize could be directed at this so it would only need 16 more runners to meet the guarantee.
The 8:15pm £20 GTD regular £1.10 PLO8 MTT seems to be struggling and it would be interesting to see if making this a £1.10 rebuy BH would make much difference.
There also seem to be a few slots from teatime onwards where a £11 PLO8 BH could be added to attract players at different levels and help grow the OH8 player pool.
Anyways here are the figures for Sky__James or any of the Sky staff to look at if they wish and consider if any additions to the schedule are merited...

Don't worry Marky, James will be at SPT Manchester on Saturday, I'll introduce you to him so you can bend his ear about this. Bring a translator though, obv.

No more please!!! Its reducing the traffic in the dyms! D'ont kill them off all together please. A balnce would be nice. Consider the rake that can be generated/lost in dyms in the same time period generated in the mtt . Ger Posted by gerardirl
A lot of the MTT gaps during the day are when there is almost no DYM traffic though ger.

No problems there but I do think this has deffo reduced the dym evening traffic. Just something else to consider. I play quite a few dyms as you know and I rarely can play mtts. It would be a shame to see the dyms die off. Ger Posted by gerardirl
I would agree ger although it is hard to know how much is down to other factors such as Tikay not playing, time of the year, or traffic slipping regardless. Granted it does look like the PLO8 BH MTTs have some sort of negative impact though.
Personally I think they have went close to as low as they would go and building the OH8 player pool on the site via the tourneys may have a positive effect on DYM traffic down the road. Just my personal opinion though and my crystal ball does play up from time to time
