TKO III - We want your suggestions!

After the huge success of the first two TKO's, we're going to be running another one in the very near future which is going to be called.... drum roll please...... TKO III! I bet know one could predict that name!

Because TKO is all about you guys having fun and creating a community spirit, we'd like to know if there is anything you'd like to see in TKO III which we haven't done yet. Any suggestions about formats, forfeits, tournaments, scheduling etc. are welcome.

If any of your ideas are the best thing since sliced bread we'll try to incorporate them sharpish.

Hi Sky Jack  (had to add the Sky there as to not scare everyone!)

I have posted these elsewhere on diff bits of the forum but I will repeat them here for you.

    1) Selection of Teams - All previous players in any of the TKO's should be given 1st choice of which teams they would want to join.

    2) When teams are decided - All players need to REGISTER for each leg of the TKO. This will make it ALOT better playing experience without all the 'aways' that have been on the tables in the last two.

    3) An Icon to be included somehow on each players Avater denoting which team they are in.

    4) An up to date league table after each leg to see how individuals/teams are doing (this would stop TK 'manipulating' the figures :)  )

    5) Most valuable Player - To be decided by the best 'average' over the 5 legs and not the most cash.

I think everyone will agree that TKO is a brilliant and very enjoyable format to be a part of and i can't wait for TKOIII.

However i have a proposition for the Sky Poker suits and Sky Jack/Rich. Before the start of TKOIII, why not have a TKO Tournament of Champions event where all the winners (me being one of them lol!) of each leg in both incarnations and the two winner freerolls play each other in a 2 table MTT (structure and format to be decided by forum vote) event and the top 3 could win the following for example:

1st place: Free buy-in into the Primo
2nd place: Free buy-in into the 12k Bounty Hunter
3rd place: Free buy-in into £7k Double Stack

I feel this is a great way for a team member/team captain to secure the ultimate bragging rights and become the king/queen of TKO and this is something you could do every 2 TKO Incarnations and then when Sky Poker have done 12 TKO's you could end up having 6 Tournament of Champion winners play each other in a TKO Supreme Champion of Champions S&G and the winner gets a buy-in into an SPT event.

I would also like to see one of the legs in TKOIII being a heads-up knockout event as i feel that could be interesting to watch and take part in.

I have to say i enjoyed the first TKO a lot but the format in the second one topped it i think with the split and extreame games. Great fun (especially the last one with the odd blind structure) and i'd be happy with a carbon copy to be honest :)

Having seen the various mixture of games over the last two TKO's how about having one of the legs played on 10 seater tables rather than the standard 6

    Hi hun
I am happy with the way it is now,
That said, it would be interesting to see 3 teams competing for the title instead of 2. Team leaders being Rich Tikay and Lisa Marie. Each team could play each other on different days. Say for example, Team Tikay V Team Rich on a Monday. Team Lisa-Marie V Team Rich on a Tuesday followed on Wedsday with Team Lisa-Marie V Team Tikay.

    What do you reckon?

how about a fatal 4 way!!!!!

team tikay V team orford V team LML V team hartigan

this would be fantastic for the TKO and would be very entertaining for all involved

around 300 players on each team and would actually really like to place bets if this was the format

god i am getting excited all ready!!!!
  • edited March 2010

in the 12k b/h you get a free seat in next weeks torny if you knock LML. So what about if you knock out the team leader ie Tikay or LML you receive a free entry to something aswell . also i think you should have to register for each event aswell because it does get a bit annoying when you have 5 sat out around you for 20 mins at the start. i know you can argue that you get the blinds but thats not the point. also what about something like extreme part 2

(2000chips 5 second time bar blinds increase every 3 mins).

    1 more aswell.

every one starts 3000 chips  blinds 5 mins. then  when you get to the last 100 theres a 5 min break then everyone starts with 3000 chips again b/h style with £5 on each head or somthing along those lines.
    .

ANYTHING TO STOP ALL THE AWAYS AND SOMEWAY OF KNOWING WHICH TEAM PEOPLE AT YOUR TABLE ARE IN WOULD BE NICE
  • edited March 2010
I really like the two captain format but would enjoy an end of series showdown where all of the participating captains from all of the TKO's play for bragging rights!!!

I really like the idea of an identification badge so we know definitively who's on who's team...

Would a cash game work?...I suppose it would look a bit like the BH but with no end prize? No reloads, once you've lost your cash your out..play to the death, with the prize money split between each player at the start...you could opt out at any time if you think you've made/played enough and as in cash you can rejoin as long as the event is still running...Hmmm actually after typing I'm not sure that this would logistically work e.g what would happen with blinds later in the tourney? when someone has loads of cash, would we still play micro level???

    My Head Hurts :o)

I agree - it would be great with someway of identifying what team your opponents are on at the table.  And why not have a bounty hunter game at some point in TKO3?
  • edited March 2010
The TKO's so far have been really fun games and I would like to see the same format in the next.
I also agree that all players should have to register for the game and not be automatically entered.
The game I enjoyed most was the split screen game, but I know that some players do have a problems playing two games at the same time.
It would be good if one of the games, maybe a no-limit holdem game with 5 mins blinds, being played on a 10 seater table.

All very sound suggestions, i agree.

Knowing how they like their acronyms on here...............

    How about the TKO DREAM

Deepstack Part 1 – Like the Orfordable, 5000 chips / 10 handed tables / 12 minute blinds / play for 4 hours and the remaining players play to a finish the following week. OK, so there won’t be any winners for the first week (well, I wouldn’t have thought so anyway!) but it would be such a good game!

Roulette – 2000 chips / 1 minute blinds / absolute mayhem – followed at 8.00 by Deepstack Part2 played to its conclusion

Extreme – However you did it before, that was strange but fun!

All Action BH – 2000 chips / 5 minute blinds / 10p for each head (and maybe £10 for the team captains! haha) with the remaining prize fund split in between the top five or six finishers (assuming there would be about 1200 runners – less runners, higher head values and vice versa). This would also depend on the original fund that Sky put up in the first place, obviously!

Multi Table – Hold Em and Omaha as before but maybe start one at 7.00 and one at 8.00

I agree with other posts, it would be nice to know who is playing for which team and players should have to register for each event to lessen the no-shows. In fact, maybe registration should be limited to the hour before the event as well! Harsh but fair IMO! As good as it is for your stack if you play on a table of away players, it does ruin the fun of the game!

Just the insane ramblings of a misguided TKO veteran! ;)

    Good suggestions,
    1) Sounds like a "cunning plan" to infiltrate Team Tikay by glory hunters, or Orfordians.
    2) Registering does not imply participation.
    3) This is a must, especially at the early stages, when no rabbid railing is going on.
    4) Tikay? Sounds like someones not got over the last crushing defeat yet. ¦¬P).
    5) All the leg winners and runners up, should play off for most valuable player, 10 seated.

Which of Tikay's young charges will be next tasked to challenge the old master?
TKO)    Apprentice philosopher Rich, aka: ConfuseUs. (Failed)
TKOII)  Apprentice saucyress LML, HEADgirl @ Skypoker. (Failed)

Do away with the split screen one as some, actually quiet a few cannot multi-table so we have to deregister from one of them.Hardly fair imo

There's wide range of games on Sky Poker so reflect that as much as possible! Therefore I'd go for standard Hold'Em and Omaha tournament (5-10 minute blinds) and then two from Extreme, Turbo and Bounty Hunter! Quite enjoyed the Split Game but as dav1964 mentioned, it's not practical for some people so maybe replace that with Heads Up tournament for the remaining week? My other suggestion has been said already but need some way of seeing what team everyone's on whilst sitting at the table!

The idea of a BH game is a good one, but it is a nightmare to try to sort out who has cashed due to having to check every single player rather than just the yop 100.
