What Poker Festivals/Tournaments this year...

edited March 2010 in Poker Chat
Hey guys,

Im looking to go somewhere in Europe for a weekend to play a Festival or tournament/cash games over there...

First time I would of done something like this...

Anyone done this before? Wondered what Festivals are coming up this year and how to satellite through etc...?

Cheers!

im not sure about going abroad to play a decent festival, maybe the irish open or irish ones would be good, heard they arent ridiculously expensive either, but if you did one in the Uk id be up for that, probs get a few people interested aswell

Would definately be up for gathering a few together and going to one in the UK if you want Hurst mate...

I know Coventry Gs Casino is a nice casino, think I saw in a magazine there is a festival there in May? Perhaps go up Dusk Till Dawn for an event?

Perhaps something we can arrange if we get some names down...

just remembered this thread mate, so searched for it. yeah im definately up for going to a tourny sometime in the coming months, if its DTD im sure youll get the likes of dantb10 who lives pretty close and regular players off sky who go there. likewise anywhere else im up for it. good thing about the festivals is even if your out theres always a game going on, plus if you cant afford the big main event or dont satellite then theres loads of side events to get involved. who would be interested?

Yes, but can you narrow it down a bit?

Tell me what areas you would consider travelling to - Midlands, North, London, Mainland Europe, whatever, & how much you could afford to spend, & I'll come up with a few suggestions.

Fessies apart, there is a wonderful range of "Weekend Specials" at DTD in Nottingham, ranging from the "50-50" - £50 to enter, 10,000 chip, one day event, one each on both Saturday & Sunday, a £100 equivelant called "20-20" (two one dayers, Saturday & Sunday, BOTH with a £20k Guarantee), & the "Deepstack Weekend" (first weekend of every month) which is £300 for the two day Main, £150 for the Sunday one-dayer, with supporting £25 & £50 Events too. And DTD in Nottingham is far & away THE BEST equipped, managed & run Poker Venue in Europe, bar none.

im not fussed about travel, if we get a few people who are up for it then something in the middle so everyone has roughly the same to travel, agree nottingham is very good and ive seen the £300 deepstack, would love to play it if i satellited in, but those 1 dayer side events sound good aswell. the 50-50 sounds good, £50 is a reasonable priced entry for a mtt. anyone else up for this?

Im going up DTD on Saturday 26th for the 50 50 game so that would be brilliant?

Perhaps get together for that one?

Yup, my bad! - Did mean Saturday 27th! If we can gather an army up for that day, that would be good!

I've played the 50 50 game once before....2weeks ago infact. 288runners, 14.5k Prize Pool...Paid out at 27th. I came 38th..bit gutted because I missed pushing on a hand in a 3way pot when I should of done and it would of probably secured me cashing...

But yeah, how does that sound?

    So far.... Ads2kuk, Hurst, Maizeraider

buyin is £50+6 thats it, and if you bust out early theres £20 sit and gos, they are great fun, or cash at 50p £1. you have got to try it.

if i can organise travel and enough cash for bnb or something im up for it....anyone got any BnB or hotel prices or a ruff idea of the prices?
  • edited March 2010
I've been looking at some of the APAT events at Dusk till Dawn in Nottingham in August and two events that seriously catch my eye is both the Heads-up and Omaha events which coincide at the same time with my beloved favourite cricket team Lancashire playing Nottinghamshire at Trent Bridge so it certainly has given me plenty of excuses to be in Nottingham that particular week.

I said to myself i would like to do an APAT event this year and i would certainly like to do more live events on the future as i find it all highly enjoyable.
