Hi all,
Just a quick note to say that everyone working on the Berlin leg of the European Poker Tour is OK, following an "incident" earlier today.
I'm sure many of you have read the reports of an armed robbery at the Grand Hyatt - where the tournament is taking place. Luckily, no-one was seriously injured.
I hope the SPT event at Luton passes without similar drama!!!
James.

thanks guys.
I've resurected this thread in the hope that someone can tell me what happened to the Comp
Did they get the prize fund in the robbery? if so did the comp have to be called off? if it was played on then whose paying for it?
Thanks for any info that comes forth
2. the comp continued 4 hours later i think
3. the money is probably insured
On that occasion, the armed robbers arrived via motorbike, stole about $100,000, but failed to speed away on the motorbike. As they had lost the keys.
Hi Dazler,
no, links to news articles are just fine. It's just links to other forums/poker sites that are against the rules.
cheers!
If you read some of the Old Timers Biographys they share many a story of poker players being robbed, held at gunpoint, cheated of their winnings etc.. During Brunson and Slims early days it was considered nothing more than an occupational hazzard lol
Greg Raymer famously foiled an attempt to releive him of his poker roll in a hotel a few years ago as well. The Stories kind of add to the mistique of the game but def not something yo uexpect the all new "Acceptable" poker to be linked with nowadays. I thought all this went out with shady underworld charachters playing cards in a smokey back room of a bar lol
