I am trying to find proof but i GUARANTEE that the word was  unknown in this context until it was used by a latex Prince Andrew in Spitting Image when he was going on about his rather exuberant, acrobatic lovelife. It caused quite a stir at the time because it was really the first program to use the Royals as figures of fun. OMG when they first did a sketch about the Queen Mother as a gin-soaked cockney gambling addict! It defo made the papers and may have been front page news. If you search on Youtube you will find a Simpsons sketch with Prince Philip as Homer and Charles as Bart.

But not on the TV! I saw that reference as well but it is unverified.
