Thoughts on BH tournaments

Hi guys,

Played in my first BH tourny last night, the big £12k one which I was lucky enough to freeroll into and earn some spending money in the form of bounties. It was the most fun I've had in a game in a long time (granted, my poker life has only just really started, but still!)

I must admit, that toward the end of my run I did let adrenaline takeover and play incredibly badly, praying for that miracle card when I knew I was beaten (why do we do that..?) but this is just something I'll have to learn to control over time.

My thoughts on this very interesting twist to the game are... just to play your normal solid poker and pretty much ignore the shiny bounties on peoples heads but to try to identify as soon as possible, which of the players around you are not doing the same and attempt to exploit it. Just wondered how other people go about playing these.

Well done to everyone that cashed out last night, some very nice play indeed!

Good luck at the tables! :)

I do tend to keep an eye on the players who are reckless with their chips and target these people but also i still play my normal solid game to build my stack.dav

you get some situations in BH's that don't crop up in usual tournaments much. WHen someone is really short stacked  - BB has them all in or something, or they have gonme all in early pos for 2 BB's, you get a LOT of calls from people trying to have a chance to tak ethe bounty. Anyone with a decent hand in late position is likely to reraise so the early limpers have thrown chips in pretty much for nothing. Is the chance of that £7.50 worth damaging your tourney chances for?

The only time you get a similar sit in normal tourneys is on the bubble when someone has gone in with a small stack and lots call to try to eliminate.
