Do i play AA wrong?

the last 3 times i have had pocket AA's i have lost/knockout off tournements.

I have aa raised it 3x BB 1 called. FLOP JC, KS, 7H.
opponent bet 3x the pot so i raised, then she went all in so i called to be shown K, 9. I was infont.
The turn was a 9 the river was a 9.
any suggestions?

so when u got in you were a big fave. The fact the villain caugh outs to beat you is not in your control. Bad beats are par for the course. Try not to base your strategies on them

I found myself laying them if I let people see the flop for 3 or 4 x BB after the flop has pairs or straights etc and they all in.


My current tactic is if I am in early position, limp or min raise and just hope you get lucky.


If your late position, all in. Take the pot down pre-flop or hope to  get called by someone with AK AQ or a pair and hope you get lucky.

I would only limp in early pos with AA if i was VERY confident of being raised behind, allowing me te re raise.

YOU HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO WHEN YOU GET THEM HAVING A SET PLAN NEVER WORKS.
IF YOUVE GOT SOMEONE PLAYING AGRESIVE ON TABLE PLAY THEM SLOWLY.IF NOT THEN GET THE POT TO A DECENT SIZE PRE FLOP THEN SEE WHAT COMES IN THEN REASSES. AND PROBABLY MOST IMPORTANTLY DONT GET MARRIED TO THEM.

i raise 4 or 5x the bb in any position with aa but then again i raise 4 or 5 bb in any position with any two cards so nobody knows what i,ve got.you just got unlucky m8 it,ll turn it always does you just remember the times it doesn't

I wouldn't worry too much though, I once had aces cracked eight times in a row, it happens

As the saying goes AA either wins small or loses big. AA in late position usually brings bigger rewards than in early position. Either push all-in or be prepared to fold. Slow playing them is dangerous,needs skill to read the player and the board, and often leads to a fold post flop. AA works best in a one-on-one situation so you really must isolate preflop. 3x BB won't generally do that.

i've lost too many pots, slow playing Ace Ace and King King.  

If I get them,  I am all in pre flop,  if some one calls and beats me so be it.

makes alot of sense,...such a shame that online poker is taking the 'play' and 'skill' out of poker...when you watch some of the gr8 poker players on tv/internet etc..they play 'proper' poker with marginal hands,so when you get AA or KK,surely these type of hands should be much more profitable..however no1 seems to want to 'play' them..in fear of seeing them beaten..again..
