i feel i have made my level and need fine tuneing to make the next step

Best bet play live live at  a casino  Luton G (TK gets there)would be good   and close  to  you or  TC's club in Maidenhead...

Talking with  players live is the best  way ..DONT go paying anyone ...
 
Back in the early 90's, I used to  sit chatting over coffee with players   like Mike McGee, Paul Alterman, Gary Bush and even Richard Ashby used to  sit  with us  in those days ... great people , always friendly and we had good laughs together ...

Tutoring is great as long as you get a good tutor. The problem is any one who is any good at poker does not need to tutor people. If you find the right person they will make literally thousands of pounds difference to your bottom line each year. Second problem they wont be cheap either as I said before anyone who is any good at the game already makes a fair bit at it.

So if you do find somebody who is willing to tutor you make sure you see there credentials and of course in poker that is how much cash they have won in the last year. By this I dont mean getting lucky in some donkament, I mean crushing at least the level above that you are wanting to play.
 
As for myself offering lessons I posted in a thread similair and just put half jokingly if you made it worth my while I would do it. However, I am not that bothered about tutoring I would rather just be playing the game myself.

So to sum up tutoring would be great for any poker player. The difficult bit is going to be hard to find a genuine tutor.

I don't dissagree with a lot of the stuff you have posted in there but i do have to say that there is no link between being good at something and being able to teach it.

In fact the best in the world at a lot of things are horrible Coaches/Tutors/Trainers. Look at Diego Maradonna. Possibly the most talented man to lace up boots but he really isn't the Mutts proverbials when it comes to managment. However Freddie Roach, the worlds greatest Boxing Trainer was a journeyman lightweight fighter who lost 13 of his fights and did nothing to talk of really within the sport. Fergie was a less than average player as was Wenger - Premierships Greatest managers

The ability to do something well does not translate itself to the ability to Teach somebody to do somthing well

Interesting thread this one – for a variety of reasons. Mainly though, because I'm about to pay someone for 1-to1 advice myself.

As ever, Benny raises a good point – which can work brilliantly; go to a card room or casino and just immerse yourself in the culture... ask questions; befriend and get involved in banter. Answers will come your way naturally. Just the repeated habit of playing will deliver good disciplines. 

I know a fabulous player, who's game has literally gone through the roof, just by doing this (fairly manipulative) method. He befriended a great cash-player, and his confidence has just soared. 

One of the best ways to improve is to simply ask friends and fellow players whether you played a particular hand well or badly... or what you could have done differently to achieve a better result. This forum can be great for that, so well done for taking advantage of that already!

I recently spent a whole day with another mate, where we just analysed each others play (poker, before you start smirking). I entered a tournament and played for a couple of hours, and we discussed every single raise, limp and fold, and then I returned the favour... and so it went until we both passed out (and I woke up in a ditch).

In summary, I've always been an advocate of 'The Ripple Effect': It really doesn't matter how much money or time you spend in the company of a good tutor, even if they only give you just one small idea that can improve your game. Over the years, that investment of time and cash could multiply immeasurably, and lead you on to bigger and better results. The simple trick is, to listen, have faith, and to actually act upon their advice – which in iteslef, can be tricky to do when it feels awkward to you.

At the risk of boring you senseless on this, here's one last thought: It's said that successful people don't do any one thing 100% better than the rest of us. But they usually do 100 things 1% better. In other words, it's the infinitesimal things that add up to make a big difference. Good luck on your quest.

I`d so love a tutor or coach.  In fact, I would just love to be sittin next to a pro for a day and him playing online, with him just thinking out loud.  `Im raising this coz of this`, and im folding this coz of....` etc etc, and I would just sit and watch and ask stupid questions. 
So if any big hitters are watching from northwest and fancy some company ( watch it !! ) pm me plz.  I will bring the beer......
