when calling for a split pot actually means you lose money

edited April 2010 in Poker Chat
was playing on another site when this hapenned.

playing 25c/50c cash game and i was in bb. there ws 2 limpers and the sb had folded. pot was $1.70.
anyway the board came 10 j q k a rainbow, im sitting with around max buyin of $50 1st llimper has $7 and the other has $59, now there was no bet on any street and with it being a rainbow board the board was the nuts. i checked it knowing there not much point here and the short stack checked and then the button pushed for 59bucks. would any1 call here,

i folded coz i worked out i would actually pay more in rake in this hand than i would have got back ie i would hae got $49 back for my $50 investment whereas folding i was left on $49.50, i always knew the short stack was calling just wondering if anyone would have snapped  his hand off with an instacall or am i being too tight with ma money, i know its only 1bb but every cent counts
