it must be great to be perfect like flashflush ,everybody has to start somewhere and you only gain experience by playing live regardless of the buy in.you need to chill out its not the end of the world if someway makes a mistake

The legs should be 1 in SE England, 1 in SW England, 1 in NE England, 1 in NW England, 1 in Wales, 1 in Scotland and the final in the midlands - DTD in Nottingham would fit the bill.
I don't recall a leg in NW England last time. With the huge population centres we have here (Liverpool, Manchester), there would be no problem filling a venue.
In Response to Re: SPUKT LOCATIONS FOR 2009/2010 : Hi VWBAYVAN, Would you care to expand on that, please? Posted by Tikay10
i was just flicking through the forums when i noticed that flashflush seemed to be suggesting that anybody with no live experience shouldnt play £50+ buy in tournaments.just because someone has no live experience that shouldnt bar them from playing any tournament they like.im sure that there must be first timers that play in the wsop and make mistakes.you only get live experience from playing live.i was just saying that if someone makes a mistake its not the end of the world and if told sure they wont make the same mistake again,

If only it were that easy.......
Let's await an announcement, then we can deal with the facts.

Thank you.
I know the Post to which you refer now - Page 1 of this Thread.
It was just a sensible note of caution, suggesting that, as most of those who played last year's SPUKT had never played Live before, that some tuition would be useful/helpful.
In fact, we had a little MasterClass at each SPUKT Venue before the Tourney commenced, to help solve this very problem.

Sorry if you took my comment the wrong way...
What i ment by this is if you stick to your bankroll management LIVE aswell as online then that means you would need to of set aside a MINIMUM of £500 ... therefore i very much doubt a newcomer has done that.
Im not saying newcomers shouldnt play them at all, but need to be approached with caution, and should gain some experience before playing (although there is short master calsses at the events

For the next tour can we please include Bristol again. The Gala is a very good poker venue with a large modern poker room. Bristol is a good location for everyone as it is on M4 and M5. Also i live there. Ed Posted by THESWISS
In Response to Re: SPUKT LOCATIONS FOR 2009/2010 : Aspers - very good it was, too. Swansea Grosvenor is not really a mainstream Poker Venue, though Grosvenor Cardiff is. Posted by Tikay10
yeah aspers gets a lot more players than grosvenor down here, if there is one this year will definitely play
I travelled all the way from Blackpool to Swansea for the 08/09 tour. I had a great weekend with the sky team and thought the tour was excellent. Please Tikay put in a word and get the tour running again for 09/10.......its brilliant!!!!!!!! Posted by The_Boat
I'm not sure they'll listen to me, to be honest!
Hang in there Mr Boat, my crystal ball tells me there may be an announcement very soon......;)
i know 4 a FACT the empire in leicester sq would welcome sky wiv open arms FANTASTIC POKER ROOM Posted by razorkev
No doubt about that Kev, they would. So would any Venue.
But The Empire fails on most criteria for a SPUKT Venue. The players were in NINE different areas on two floors yesterday & Saturday. We would not dream of running a SPUKT on that basis.
In addition, local Hotels cost a fortune, as does Car Parking in the very centre of the West End, & late night Taxis are a nightmare to get hold of.
It's a very fine venue, but it just does not "fit" the Sky Poker requirements I'm afraid.

Hey Benny, went down to Bournemouth Gala Sat night they still do cash games -25/50p 50p/£1 so going to be giving them a shot soon. Seems like ok atmosphere.
How about like the highly successful London Poker Circuit, we hire out some massive hotels and do it all in conference room. Oh no bad idea

Hi mate yes once you get into one or two of the tournaments there you ll love.. I still miss the place and all the regulars but the long term plan is to move back to Poole ... It really is a great cardroom glk benny
In Response to Re: SPUKT LOCATIONS FOR 2009/2010 : Depends how you define "soon"......... Sorry, you'll have to be patient. Posted by Tikay10
Tony ........when we were kid's, we were always asking mum and dad, " "can we go to the park at the weekend" ? , the thing was my dad would always say the same thing ..
"Oh, it depends , you ll have to wait and see"!
So come the weekend, when we asked again, he would say, 'Oh No, sorry something has come up, not this time maybe next week' .. So you see in the end we gave up asking and found ourselves something else to do,
So when my kids used to ask me the same question, It would be either a 'Yes' we are going, or 'No' we cant, and give them a reason ! I tell you they were just as happy with a 'No as a 'Yes' !! at least they were happy knowing one way or the other, rather than waiting all week thinking they might be going only to find they were not !!

Cool well keep in touch on here and if you do ever move back to Poole we can meet up at Gala. I don't think we will get the SKUPT here though I thought there was plans to build new super casino near the Pavilion but looks like they are shelved. Got to admit in the old days I would have been against that, now I am all for it lol! Dave

Lol, I well recall when we used to say to Mum & Dad, on seaside trips, - "how long before we get there?". The answer was always the same - "soon".......
I'm a victim of my own honesty here. I dont like - in fact I hate - to see questions go unanswered, it seems the height of ill-manners to me, But it's not my place, or role, to "officially" comment on such things. So I try & tread a fine line, & just ask for people to be patient.
I've answered similar questions a score of times,. I don't know what else I can do, or say.
It's really not that simple, especially in an orgsanisation as big & departmentalised as Sky Poker, to get things such as SPUKT set up.
Dealing with the Venues is also a nightmare. Sky Poker won't just go anywhere, it has to tick all the boxes, be "just so", & financially do-able.
I can say an awful lot of time has been spent on it recently - 6 or 7 Meetings to my certain knowledge, several of which I sat in.
