    you know what dude.

almost exactly same thing happened to me. I had 22. flop A27, check-called. turn 9, I check-raise and get called.

river K they all in. I think they must have had AK got 2 pair and think they are lucky so call... they had KK.

    Unlucky...

I think you should definitely be raising the flop though

Would you fold if someone raised or check-raised on that flop holding QQ?

No i wouldn't, either way the chips are still going in. But you shouldn't be results orientated, rasing here is still the best play by far in the long run. Firstly, the board is flushing so you need to protect your hand against hands like AKss/AQss etc and even if your opponent isn't on the flush draw you're both going to slow down probably if another spade comes on the turn so you aren't getting value for your set.

Also being out of position your giving your opponent the chance to control the pot size if your plan is to c/c flop then c/r turn. What if he decides to check back the turn? Then you haven't built the pot enough so you can't get as much value on the river. It's hard to stack off players at the best of times oop and it's a perfect board to c/r as depending on how aggressive your style of play is this could easily look like a straight/flush draw to the villain so the strength of your hand is disguised.

If i got check raised on that flop and i have QQ its going straight in the muck.

The only reason I called the raise preflop was because I was fairly sure he had a monster, when th 3 comes I need to get his stack in the middle asap. YB, if I check raise the flop to me that screams a set, so there's a big chance I could get no more chips, by calling here I make it look like I have the flush draw, and I'm making a really bad call to hit. Also by his bet on the flop I know he has an over pair for sure.

On the turn I know he wants the hand dead so now I minraise inducing the push hey presto !

Tbh when that Queen came on the river I couldnt physically lift my jaw up for about 5 minutes lol .

i know we all try to get value out of are sets not worth it on here every time had aset on here get beat on the river so the motto is slow play  no pay
