Welcome to the Sky Poker ‘Poker Clinic’. In this particular section of the Sky Poker Community you’ll be able to ask fellow players for advice and views on what they might have done in your situation.
Which brings us neatly to the main point of this post. When going to a doctor, you try to give them as many details about symptoms, background information and so on. For an accurate poker diagnosis, The Poker Clinic is going to ask you to do the same.
We need as much information as possible on the type of game you were playing, position and stack sizes of the relevant players and some background on the table (what was your table image like, was it an aggressive or tight table, etc). We weren’t at the table at the time, so think of this as your chance to put us there.
If you’re unsure of getting all the important details in you can simply copy and paste the template below and fill in the necessary details.
* Table type (Tournament/Sit & Go/Cash): * Number of players at the table: * Player types (Were any of the players loose, tight, aggressive or passive? If you have no information, say as much!) * Stack sizes of the relevant players: * Blinds/antes: * Details on this hand:
There are a couple of final points to bear in mind:
* The more you tell us, the more we can tell you! * Everyone has an opinion. Offer your own and respect the opinions of your fellow players. * Being called a donkey isn’t nice. Try to keep your criticism of play constructive; we’re all hoping to improve as players and having your confidence knocked doesn’t help

Hey Magnum,
That's great to hear, i'm so pleased your enjoying the community/ Sky Poker.
I'm not really sure i'm qualified to answer your poker question and i'd hate to give you dud advice. why not start a new thread here in the Clinic and ask your question. I'm sure all our guys will be happy to help.
rich i was thinking all the freerolls are re buys but they should be freerolls so can it go back to being normal no rebuys? thanks bluff (c.dodd) Posted by iBLUFF
Thanks for your comments bluff, i'll certainly pass them on the the rest of the team who make decisions on such things.
I'm pretty sure there will be some future freerolls coming that don't involve re-buys. More announcements on those when i have the info.

Played this hand on a freeroll is it bad play or bad luck or normal for a freeroll new to this site ? this was late in the game and i had only played 1 hand in around 35 minutes so i was playing tight
I wanted to try and start a conversation about how to play AK - reading through forums and talking it through with friends there are obviously a lot of differing opinions out there.
The background:
Sunday Primo - about 20 players remaining. I'm 2nd with about 120k in chips with the chip leader on the same table with a little more. The villian in this case is the chip leader who I perceive as loose agressive.
The villian is UTG and makes a 4x raise to 24k (everyone else is on between 20 - 70k in chips roughly) and i'm 2 behind with AK un-suited. I decide to shove....
Everyone folds and after a good think our villian calls and shows 99. I don't hit and am out.
Now after a long think and review I think that in that position I have two options, fold or shove. Even at 120k in chips the raise constitutes a good portion of my stack so a call isnt great, and if i dont hit i waste them, if i shove i give myself 2 chances at winning the hand - Hence the shove...
But after all that I now wonder whether folding would have been the best option, I'm very deep in the tourny and in a great position, why go up against the chip leader? I would have been in a superb position if I'd hit and had a very good starting hand but would be interesting in what everyone else thinks they would do in this position.

yes, unlucky, it happens. if u raised allin preflop he/she may have folded. u let him/her see a free flop, and with his/her raise on the flop, was pretty much committed. but i suppose it all depends on what type of player u were up against, whether he/she would have called anyway. aj fold or raise!
4p/8p NLHE cash game. Was i right to fold as the the player had been playing tight. Vr46 Short stacked and when he fired out 2xBB on the flop i put him on a Flush draw, I felt he had one diamond in his hand. The fourth diamond come on the turn and VR46 shoved. As he was playing tight i automatically put him on a higher diamond than mine. The fact that there were two players in the hand also put a seed of doubt in my mind, to wether my hand was still good. Any Thoughts? was i playing to tight or should i of come in over the top and re-raised on the flop?
seriously bud, cash players pay rake which in the long run will be much more then the registration fee on tourneys. Secondly stop ranting and tell people why u are so bothered? it sounds to me like u have taken a shot and got bad beat? or unlucky, u have played long enough to know better
im new to sky poker but ive played on other sites. It always seems that the chip leader has an unfair advantage when the cards are dealt. they seem to hit more than other players is it just me or is there a bias on the tables, or could it be a bias to a particular seat.
hi all. sw9 here. have been only playing for approx 3 weeks came second in a bounty hunter tournament today. should have won was 4 x chip leader in final heads up and blew out. congrats to player that won, he played well. still am proud of second place. have climbed pretty well in poker league since starting.

hi all, this is my 1st post, i would like some advice please, i was playing in a casino on holiday in alicante, last night, saturday, it was a multi table 50 euro freeze out, with a 20 euro bounty. 83 runners 10 seater. starting stack 10,000 chips. i have safely navigated my way to the last hand before the 1st break were the blinds were now 150-300 i have 11,000 chips. my plan to fold my A-7 of clubs and return with a just below average chip stack went pearshaped when utg raised to 1000, folded all the way around to the small blind who made up the call, so to me in the bb. 700 into 2300 3way i will have a look, i am not looking for an ace i want clubs. flop 3 6 9 two clubs. pfr bets 1000 i put him on a lower flush draw or he has missed ? sb folds, i min raise to 2000 hoping A. for a fold or B. a call, then i think i am right ? he jams all in.if i fold now, after the break i would then come back with 20 bigs. decision time ! the rest of my 8000 chips to win 24,000 or fold. I called, he shows a set of 9s. i miss, gutted. going back with over 24k would have set me up nicely but i thought all the way through i was getting the odds. WAS THIS PLAY CORRECT ? i thought just calling his bet would be wrong, as when i missed i might chase a river and be left really crippled.
i look forward to your replies. kind regards terry.
ps i thought about jamming myself instead of re-raising, but i thought it looked too obvious.
also. sorry, i should mention that the pfr was on a stack of 12.500. so he was in my situation really win or out !!
As a complete novice, only playing my first hand of holdem 12 weeks ago, could you explain the concept of the bounty hunter games to me and can you tell me what the phrase "three bet" means. Thank you.
hi all reading through some post just now.The last couple of weeks started cashing inn tourneys reading about people moaning about bad beats Reminds me of me lol You cant win all the time. Started to be patient as its not a 5 horse race. My only problem iswhen i see big pots i e final table no matter what 2 cards i want these chips

Played a "Family & Friends" game the other day and i had bottom pair but had a good read on the other player....
He raised on the river and i called
I asked him if he had hit the board he said he had hit a pair of tens (higher than my pair)
I mucked my hand and then he showed Ace High
I know usually as i mucked he wins the pot, but does it make a difference that he called the incorrect hand or no difference at all
Many Thanks
