Knife vs Bat. Who wins?

Got in an argument with some friends this weekend. If you were gonna fight someone, all factors being equal- size, weight, skill, etc...would you choose a bat or a knife, and why? Your opponent would get the other.

Knife - obviously you wudnt get close enough to use it properly, so you get 1 chance to hit him in the eye......otherwise ur nackered.

Id rather be hit in the eye by a bat than a knife though.

  Well for a start, just for the record let me just say i think your deep and meaningful conversations with your friends has room for improvement and hopefully the argument didn't turn into a fight.
       However, from personal experience it has to be the knife as this is less weight to carry when i runaway, obviously i could throw away the bat before running but good bats don't come cheap these days.

I would definitely go for the bat, but make sure you fight at night as they can see in the dark, and can navigate by using sonar clicks. It would have to be the vampire variety though, as it would suck the blood out of your opponent before he got to you.

A teacher told me the other day that a dumb bell works quite well.

I`m not to sure though,i think i would go for a big bat.

depends how good you or your opponent is at throwing knives... also, how big the knife is. Also how good you are at baseball/rounders. Unless you're talking cricket bat, in which case I'm taking the knife unless it's a stanley. If it's a machete/kitchen knife, I'm probably taking the knife.

very good question meself i would have the bat you have the advantage by reach i dont no many people who have a knife by the side of the bed but no loads who have bats so bats it is ha
