I heard this question this morning on the radio with Ken Bruce, and I had to laugh because the first thing I thought of was Tony Kendall shouting out 'Stevenson's Rocket' ! but then realised that was back in the 19th century..

Ken Bruce, came up with 'BABY WIPES' ? And you cant imagine (well maybe you can) he still uses them today !!

I thought well POKER on 865 must be the best recreational Invention, but finally rested on....

"Clear History" button on the computer" !!

So what do you think is the best invention of the 20Th Century ?

Mobile phone is better then internet I reckon, but also as a sailor GPS is well up there, Internet though i dearly love it I think I could do without, and you wouldn't have the internet without a computer so thats got to be up there assuming you dont dump it in the 19th century as Babbages analytical engine.

The best invention has to be the microchip.

The worst, for me, is the mobile phone. Now you have to sit in the pub/ on the train listening to inconsiterate idiots SHOUTING at the inconsiderate idiots at the other end. Oh for a simpler, quieter life.....
