Hey how are you meant to calculate this in 30 secs, I need help.
I got AK, flop 829
So i got 3 more A out there and 3 more K out there = 6 outs, I times this by 4 = 24% = 3-1
I got a pot of 8441, i call for 2619 so my pot is 11060
then i am supposed to divide 11060 by 2619 = 4.42 = 3-1
so am i getting the odds to call? no.
how am i meant to do this in 30 sec without a calculater are you mad?

Just divide the amount in there already by how much you need to call, so 8441/2619 is a liitle more than 3/1 - I'd just work out that 3 * 26 = 78 so you are getting good odds if you put your opponent on nothing better than a pair.
Also, only use the 4% rule if your opponent is all-in on the flop, otherwise he can bet again on the turn and get you off your hand. If your opponent is all-in on the flop then why aren't all the chips in pre-flop? That would save a lot of calculating. :-)
