pocket aces.. too good to lay down..

edited May 2010 in Poker Chat

ive been debating this for weeks, and now that i'm new to sky poker i thought id bring it up with some of the professionals ;)
situation .. youve just started a tournament .. first hand you get pocket aces .. in the big blind .. EVERY SINGLE PERSON goes all in, this is a ten handed table, you fold dont you ? i have a lot to learn about poker .. but you can not be a favourite against nine other hands surely ? ive tried this in my college .. out of ten runs pocket aces won twice .. feel free to explain if you would fold or not and why .. but i feel if your last to act, then you cant possible call for your tournament life when you can not be a favourite to beat 9 other hands. Your comments will be appreciated .. and it is my 18th birthday today .. i hope i have a lot of fun on this website .. i like all the staff on tele .. tikay and ed giddins give excellent advice to people watching .. tikay stressing about raggy aces .. ed giddins ranting about bet sizes. I also personally believe richard orfard has some hidden poker qualities .. so leave him alone guys lol !! i will be looking forward to playing on this website .. and i hope its a good experience for me.

Its all about odds. You have far less chance of winning but the pot size is also massive but your right there will be better chances to get your money in
10 handed off the top of my head its probably about a 20% dog so 2/10 aint far off
Mere Novice will give you exact stats

Personally I call as usually tournament blinds structure is too rapid to lay these hands down

    insta-call

you ahve a better than 1 in ten chance of having 10x the starting stack,  odds dictate a call.
if you cant call then you are out of your depth
