    from a poker forum...

Collusion. Especially at cash tables of $1.00-$3.00 and up. Imagine you sit down for a friendly game and find yourself busted within an hour. How's that possible? You played your hands well, raised when you should have raised, folded when you should have folded, maybe even threw in an out of position reraise only to be caught with an all in. Every trick you knew was countered and you lost your roll.

Did you ever consider the fact that maybe you are at a table with 3 or 4 players who are on the phone with each other? Or worse yet, sitting right next to each other? Imagine how powerful you would be if you could see 4 out of 9 hands! Yes, it's not a guaranteed win, but if I know 3 hands had aces tossed and the last ace hit the flop, I would not be too worried with your betting if I was holding KK. You would be first to bet and I would simply reraise you. You would think I had the aces and fold. At least a smart player would in that situation.

Some of the more established sites do have a way of observing table play and preventing such antics. So if you want to play poker online my suggestion would be to stick to the more popular sites if you want a better chance of avoiding collusion.

Smaller sites do not yet have the personnel to properly manage and observe players at all tables, leaving collusion to run rampant on them. The larger sites have more advanced security measures like ISP monitoring to ensure the same addresses aren't playing each other on a regular basis.

the pots are smaller/less worthwhile on limit tables thus lowering earnings per hour.

Live Limit Poker is extremely popular in the USA, & in Mainland Europe, but it's pretty much non-existent in Great Britain, I don't know a single British Casino that lays Limit Poker.

That's reflected Online, not quite so severely, but it's very much a minority game, & I doubt if 1% of Online Turnover in GB is Limit.

Hence, the liquidity on the Limit tables is thin.

That's a sweeping statement, and it is very misleading.

Thr Anti-colusion measures on this Site are second to none, & no Site, big or small, has better. One or two players have already found that, to their cost.

The anti-collusion measures on Sky Poker are set to uber-sensitive, ISP Monitoring is but the tip of the iceberg, & so your generalisation is not applicable here. I hope you don't mind me pointing that out, but it needed saying.

msn and mobile phones have made it nigh-on impossible to prevent collusion,3 players(friends) from opposite ends of the country can sit safely with generally 1 outsider at a table and basically play 3 v 1 poker and splitting the profits aftwerwards, the isp's are meaningless in such a situation and as long as they play in a non "glaringly obvious" fashion
they risk little chance of exposure.

Correct - contrary to the Quite you Posted.

As I suggested, the Anti-Collusion measures on Sky Poker are very sophisticated - as several players have already discovered.

If Players suspect Collusion, they should report it. Chances are, the Anti-Collusion techniques Sky Poker employ will have got there first.

    Trust me. ;)
