Does sky favour the big money players

edited August 2009 in Area 51
why does sky have so many small stake rooms and yet only the big money 1s get a mention.  Is it because were not big enough and dont spend enough??? It's  always the same names mentioned in all the shows, chance, what do you think

Im afraid this is just life... in football who gets mentioned- the big teams, winners get the lime light and i think that is deservedly. I also think this is good because those who are not in it have something to aim for and a bit of motivation.

The TV Show does not have a "how much do they spend" criteria for selecting hands, in fact nobody at the Feltham (London) Studios would even know how much any player spends, that information is not made available to anyone by the folks at Harrogate, who control the Cardroom.

    The criteria is....

    Action Hands

Interesting Tables, where we follow the action for several consecutive hands.

And of course, when it is down to 4,3,2 & then the final, Tables, those Tables get shown more than any others.

I'm pretty sure though, that I have commentated on numerous hands which you participated in.

Please remember, in a typical Open, there are over 100 Tables, & there are tens of thousands of hands every Tourney. The Show probably only shows about 30 or 40 hands prior to the Final, so it's tough to cover everyone. But the criteria is fair.

If one of your hands makes it onto the Show tomorrow (Monday) or Thursday, I promise I'll give you the loudest shout-out in Shout-Out-Ville.

    Take care now.

Thanks tikay a shout out goes a long way but, the small stakers make up quite a large amount of the sites take. It would be nice for us low  stakers to have our own league kind of thing like the top 150 freeroll. Taht could be seen as the prem' and a smaller stake league as a championship league. Do you think thats something you would be able to support???

I'll continue to support any initiative which ensures the players at the lower buy-in Levels get looked after "fairly". The problem is that everyone thinks "their" category of Buy-In deserves a bigger slice of the Promotional Spend Cake, as you can see fom the Forum, so keeping all the Players happy is a neat trick, & I don't envy Sky Poker's task here.

proberbly bacause viewers want to see big hands for big money, people dont want to watch me play for 2/4p. and the same names get mentioned bacause those players are amazingly good players.
