What's the point in raising?

Oh also, hes called your 5xBB raise and is calling all your other bets... to me that might suggest he has a bigger ace... maybe AT or AJ and is happy just to check call to get to showdown, so was you not worried when he was calling you down?

Yeah, was wondering if A9 was raggy by that point and that was the excuse to lay down, take your point regarding the 5xBB and agree it did look like a steal so will adjust to the 3xBB from now on.

    A9 IS a rag ace. Obviously any hand is situational...you need to consider the basics like: how many people remain in the hand? Have i got position? Can i steal the blinds? Is it WORTH trying to steal the blinds at level 1?
