How about compiling our very own Dictionary/Terminology thingmebob thingy? We could probably compile something worthwhile/interesting/amusing between us.

Will start the ball rolling with a few examples....please add your contributions, It may even go to print....or it almost certainly wont :0)

A

All-In
Having bet all of your chips in the current hand. Also See Area 51

Aggro An unknown site resident, who only turns up when Sky Rich is on holiday or on his day off. Or Both.

Area 51 A kind of holding area for unfortunate tales of river badness, especially when you are miles ahead when shoving pre-flop or pre-turn. Also See All-In

B

Broadway
A straight from Ten to Ace

Binkage Something that is Cool, Awesome or of Value. I think.

Backdoor A draw requiring two consecutive cards, not to be confused with a filthy lass on holiday.

C

Case Card
The last available card of a certain description. The only way I can win is to catch the case Jack., meaning the only remaining Jack in the deck.

Club (The) Poker based comedy/entertainment programme which is aired on Channel 865 at 8pm on Mondays.

Claire (Sky) Goddess of all things Sky Poker related.

C*** Word of high-value naughtiness. See Also Dohhhhhhh

D

Deuce A two-spot card, sometimes known as a Duck, Swan or Quack.

Drawing Thin Not completely dead, but chasing a draw in the face of poor odds. A player who can only win by catching one or two specific cards is said to be drawing thin.

Freeroll Much maligned Poker form of free entertainment, which is rightly ridiculed by those who have not, and maybe do not intend to deposit any funds until they have won at least £4000, without spending a bolt.

FFS/Friday Night Popular chatbox insult which is served regularly on Friday Nights.

Grinder A player who turns a profit by making small profits consistently over a long period.

Gut Shot Also called an inside-straight draw. Regularly featured in Area 51.

GTF Nasty chat box talkings. Also See FFS/Friday Night.

Hole Cards
Face-Down cards, also called pocket cards.

Hand History Invaluable tool to analyse play and read about bad-beats.

In The Money To place high enough in a tournament to get prize money

Junk A hand with little or no value. See Also Area 51.

Kicker
A card in a hand that may be used to break ties between a hand of the same rank.

L

Laydown A difficult choice to fold a good hand, believing that another player holds a superior hand.

Maniac A player who can be very loose and aggressive.

Nuts (The) The Nut hand is the best possible hand in a given situation.

Nobel Peace Prize An award, which should be given to Tikay or Sky Rich after they wade through (and resolve) lots of aggro/heated debate on the Forum.

Overpair A pocket-Pair which is of higher rank than any of the community cards.

Orford (Rich) Resident Sky-Poker Comedian and very unlucky BR Challenge Man. (on 127th attempt)

Rail (To) enjoyable pastime to cheer on friends during a game in which you may not be participating in. You can also be railed by someone who is still insisting that you are a c***, a good hour after you have put them out of a game.

Siht (anagram) anguished cry of pain when playing more than one table when drunk, which can lead to going all-in with 2-6 offsuit by accident.

Suck-Out When a hand heavily favoured to win ends up losing to an inferior hand after all the cards are dealt.
