Jakob Toestesen opened the action with a raise to 125,000 from the cutoff position. Redmond Lee called in the small blind, as did William Thorson in the big blind to go three ways to a flop of 3d9h8s.
The three players tapped the table and the free card on the turn was the qc. Again it was checked around and the river delivered the 6c. Lee checked again but this time Thorson took a stab with a bet of 350,000. Toestesen let it go btu Lee made the call.
Thorson tabled 7h5c for a rivered straight which was good to rake in the pot. He's up to 7.11 million with Lee down to 1.7 million.
Alexander Kostritsyn raised it up from early position with Redmond Lee defending his big blind with a call to see a flop of 6d7c9c.
Lee decided that was a good flop to lead into with a bet of 175,000. It wasn't meant to be as easy as that, as Kostritsyn made the call to see the jh fall on the turn.
Lee kicked it up a gear by moving all in. This forced a fold from the Russian as Lee chips up to 2.17 million. Kostrtitsyn is back to 2.95 million.
From under the gun, John Armbrust made it 125,000 to play and the table folded around to Redmond Lee on the button who declared himself all in. Armbrust made the call.
Armbrust: adkd Lee: jcjh
The flop was a rather dull-looking 10d2c2s but that was not a sign of things to come.
The dealer paused for dramatic effect before he burned and turned the ah to give Armbrust a pair of aces as Lee threw his head back in dismay as he realized there were only two cards in the deck to help him.
The fans on the rail took a step closer and....BOOM the dealer flipped the js on the river! Lee spiked his set to take the pot as he celebrated with his support crew on the rail, leaving Armbrust to make the walk to the cashier to collect his $114,205 pay day.
Do we know how many are left, and will they play down to the final table today? Posted by Kiwini4u
64 remaining - next person to go and prize moves up another $30k! I read something on day 5 saying they hoped to have the final table line up sorted by end of today but that may have changed since! I think he's gonna make the November 9...
