In a mess on the turn...

edited July 2010 in The Poker Clinic

Pretty sure the guy here shud be folding his hand pre flop here, can eliminate AA/KK and QQ, he wud have 3bet, and then 4 bet these hands.

I think I have to give up on the turn?

THE TURN WAS THE QUEEN OF HEARTS.- Missed it off the copy.

Note on the guy ..... - called pre 4x w/3-5 suited, flopped pair and fd and shoved.

Are you just check folding the turn? or shoving in the 50xbb's you have behind?

c bet less.  10/11 does the same job.  on these kinda boards tho a CRAI can work as not many randoms woulda bet a J in this spot, and unlikely he has an overpair meaning that he can fold 9x/TT and lower pairs.

i think i prob give up here.  your read says that FD is shoved flop so makes it less likely he has that plus the Q turn complete a couple of draws that he could have + give him pairs with stuff like QTs.  if he has a random Q then he aint folding for 25 if hes calling 17x with it pre.  if the turn was a total blank like a 3c or something then i might shove.  not on the Q turn tho

and ofc you could be dead flop.

pre flop is fine. Post I would c-f, JJ9, you are going to get floated by all PP, even hands like QK/AQ/A10 etc for one bet. IF you are going to bet as said £12 is more then enough.

    ---

so you have 30% equity in the hand vs this range pot is £50 you have £25 behind, assuming he calls turn bet 100%  of the time you are betting £25 to win a total of £50pot size+£25 hes calling = £75

3:1 which gives you 25% which makes this play a ev-.

this is purely based on him having 22-TT, and 0 bluffs and no J or Q in his hand
