Nice hand fella - but why the min raise pre flop? - shock at getting AA first hand? lol

Great feeling on the flop seeing a shove into you, happy days.
  • edited August 2010
well it was a min re raise but i was originaly going to raise 4x so it worked out the same really.

and yes it was a bit of a shock 1st hand!!!

i was so expecting to see the other guy have 2 spades so it was nice to see his hand :)

hmmmm yeh but your bet/raise sizing should change according to the action before you.....

3 bet size is normally at least 3x the initial raise, which in this case wud be a minimum of 24p...and as it' micros, and you know bigger is better, as you're now pretty experienced at this level, Id be looking to make it at least 30p+ - you are new to the table, maybe if you had seen people calling big raises/3bets alot, then u could adjust it accordingly, but as a rule 3x the opening raise minimum....

If you are on the button with AA, you plan to make it 4xbb if there is no action in front of you.....

....if however, there are 3 limpers, do you still make it 16p? or adjust your bet sizing according to what you have seen before you?

...Just splitting hairs really, trying to disect some strategy from the hand - but you can ignore it if u like coz who cares, u doubled first hand and thats all that matters!

    Keep running gud! gl!

how not to play AA, raise more pre, bet more on flop
  • edited August 2010

I think the flop is 3 handed, theres an initial raiser, then an all in, then the action will have been on DP with a decision to Call or Fold?

that only happens to me in my dreams :(

here you go must be my lucky day

    few hands later!!!!

played this alot stronger but less of a pot so i guess theres a fine balance with bet sizing here, and i guess depending how strong the villain has hit.

and yes i know i shouldnt show just couldnt help it ;)

First one as others have said dont min-raise pre, 3 bet them at least! still it worked out just note in future play as aggressive as possible before flope. rest fine

second one played it fine, had to pot as you dont want to give people good value for their flush although at this level people tend not to know these things. another day you may get called or re-raised with someone with a loose ace or flush draw nh's long may these aces continue easy game!
