I'd flat the raise on the turn and check call river.

Bottom two is not a monster and a bit of caution required, bet calling the river is not really an option.

I know you weren't happy about this Mcgook, but I think you let me in. Your bet size on the flop didn't scream "King!" and as I also had the 8 with a decent kicker it's worth seeing the turn. When that brought a club I was always going to see the river unless you put a crazy bet in.

Honestly the clamour on the table at that amazed me, you'd think it was the first backdoor flush in the history of poker.

I put you on 88 with a worse kicker than me, btw, so once again it's allowing a bad read to outdraw you. My meeting the re-raise on the turn might look funny to some people on paper but Mcgook and I already had a handful of raise/re-raise situations so it wasn't neccessarily a sign of a monster.

In your position I'd definitly be thinking trips or higher 2 pair by the river, and laying it down. Just sod's law it was the flush rather than either of those.

i bet small on the flop so that you would call if you had middle pair. if you had top pair then great.

you're right, the re-raise ont he turn made no sense whatsoever.

Sorry to say mcgook but you price him in here, welcome to the forum!

on the flop i would potsize, & turn again especially to get rid of the backdoor flush draw. all the signs were there, by the river your not beating alot there is straight & flush out but had to really call as your getting 3-1 although worth noting you are only really beating a bluff or TPTK player

If bet more each street you would have taken this down, on that flop by no means the nuts so no point building the pot get as much in as possible

    thats how i see it

    Regards

    John
