    Donny to draw at Preston.

Nottingham Forest to win away at Burnley

Bristol city to draw at home to millwall.

Norwich to beat Watford. (I think its watford - doing this off the top of my head)

    68/1

Can't wait for some proper end to end live football with tackles !!!!!

Yeah baby! The footy season is finally back (albeit another week for the prem but hey ho).

As ever, the first 6-8 games in any season are always tricky for us punters cos other than pre season (which counts for diddly squat) there's no form to go by so as ever tread carefully in the first few weeks.

As I just can't help myself (& the fact I need my usual Saturday gambling fix!) I've gone for 2 acca's this week.

    Main Acca:

Bristol City to beat Millwall (H) @ 10/11
    Reading to beat Scunthorpe (H) @ 4/7
    Charlton to beat Bournemouth (H) @ 4/5
    Rotherham to beat Lincoln (H) @ 4/5

    These 4 are paying 15/2.

Like I said, there's no form to go on so these are really just gut feelings & likely outcomes "on paper".

Bristol City have made some decent signings this summer, most notably Nicky Hunt from Bolton, Kalifa Cisse from Reading & arguably the best of the lot David James on a freebie. Couple this with the facts that they've got the goal machine that is Nicky Maynard up front & Steve Coppell in charge (who knows this division inside out) & you've got the makings of a strong team for this division (I still fancy them as dark horses this year). They're up against a Millwall side who'll be looking to find their feet in this division & it's a big ask for them to get anything here.
Reading are my picks for the title this year & they should get off to an absolute flyer against a Scunthorpe side whose away form last year was terrible (4 wins & 16 defeats last season).
Charlton have made a fair few changes to their squad this summer & they know they'll need to get off to a good start at home against newly promoted Bournemouth if they're to mount an early challenge for top spot. As with most teams, Bournemouth are much stronger at home & will probably be glad to get one of their toughest fixtures of the season out of the way early doors.
Rotherham are my picks for League 2 & they'll be pleased to start the campaign with a home game. Lincoln surprised me for the wrong reasons last season (I certainly expected a bit more from them) & their away form was poor to say the least (4 wins & 15 defeats). If Le Fondre can find his shooting boots then it should be a good start to the season for Rotherham.

    Long shot draw acca:

    Coventry/Portsmouth @ 9/4
    Burnley/Forest @ 9/4
    Rochdale/Hartlepool @ 9/4
    Bury/Port Vale @ 9/4

This does exactly what it says on the tin but I'll risk a quid on it as it's returns a mammoth 111/1.

This is gonna be a good season for us punters so hopefully we can all get off to a good start tomorrow.

    Happy betting peeps

Not sure where to post my bets, so ill put em everywhere

    Buzzing ahead of tonights game.

Its only Norwich Watford, but it's sure to be more entertaining than the whole world cup put together.

The fans will be out in force, passionate, atmospheric, fast, not guarenteed quality, but plenty of effort and pride.

I think Norwich will blow watford away, so had £28 on em -1 @ 5/2!

Fast start! hope I havent under-estimated watford

Not a good start to the betting season. Bristol City losing at home to Millwall & Reading losing at home to Scunthorpe!

However, I like to think there could be a silver lining here. I've backed Reading to win the division & the last (& only) time they've won this division was back in the 2005/06 season. They surprisingly lost their opening game that season at home to Plymouth but then remained unbeaten in the league until the middle of February when Luton beat them 3-2 at Kenilworth Road. Good omen for me imo ;)
