    Hi Robbie.

First two questions. (There will be more!).

    1) Where do you live?

    2) How much can you sensibly afford to spend on a Live Poker Tourney?

PS - welcome to the Forum, & I absolutely love your music. Hope the marriage is working out nicely.

    Thanks Robbie.

    A £50 ceiling is fine.

Two more questions, then I'll reply.

    Do you have transport?

    Where, in north London?

I,d loook round your local pubs
With the amount of games going on now you probably already know someone who plays in one

Ive just recently found out about the Rileys (Snooker Clubs) poker league , which is a national Comp. You can also qualify from there to a National Final every 12 weeks I think it is

Its only £10 with no rebuys ( I 8em with a passion) and a good structure - 10,000 chips and 20 minute blinds.

Theres also your nearest casino which apart from Luton sky Tour I haven,t played in. Thats next on my list

There is a poker club in Enfied/Winchmore Hill way, come up the A111 hedge lane from the 406, turn left onto green lanes and it's just on your right set back a bit from the road iirc. (this one is called bigslick, and is opposite Aroma Patisserie ).

if not you could go to equal chances in Walthmstow which has quite a friendly atmosphere.

you could also try the International on Vestry just north of Old street in east london.

I like the initial poster have never played live tournemants. I have been playing poker online for about 10yrs now and I only play MTT's with a slow blind structure as that suits my game.

I live in West Sussex and would be interested to know if there are any good venues in my area (that are welcoming to new players :-)), I am guessing probably Brighton but any help or advice would be appreciated.

Now i've looked up where East Sussex is lol

You can try Brighton casinos on the waterfront, or Duffs Full House in Waterlooville which seems quite small and friendly from what i've heard.

    GL at the tables :)

    Ty Beaneh :-)

Im West Sussex not East Sussex lol. West Sussex is west of Brighton, Im close to Littlehampton. Waterlooville is about a 40min drive from me i think so not to bad. Do you have to be a member at Duffs Full House or do you just turn up and play? Also can you get info on what tournements they run? Sorry im a complete novice when it come to live poker!!!

0It was with great regret that Duffs Full House Waterlooville had to close so suddenly and without warning and Duffs Full House and its committee deeply apologise to everyone who was affected by this. It was completely outside our control and was a very sad day. All those close to us will understand that all of the management worked tirelessly to give you the club it wanted and unfortunately this was to no avail.Duffs have always honoured everything that it did and will always do so. We ran several guaranteed tournaments which fell well short of the guarantee and sometimes this was as much as £4,000 and we always paid out without putting in sudden disclaimers like some other clubs. Our leagues always fell short of the guarantees and we still always paid out. We have always strived to give our members the games that they want and have done our upmost best to ensure these ran smoothly and that everyone had a good time. We will continue to do this. The club which recently opened in Basingstoke will remain open and is completely unaffected by the recent events. Duffs Full House is also pleased to announce that it will be re-opening a club on Friday September 12th just 12 miles from Waterlooville so that hopefully all our card players will continue to enjoy the clubs that we offer. We will announce the full details and schedules for this in the next day or 2. Please follow our websitewww.duffscardroom.co.uk for all the details. We will also be opening another one very soon on The South Coast as well."

Sorry it was all from memory will keep looking.

There's the one in basingstoke, Brighton definitely has venues to play at.

SW london in Croydon I think there is one, it's in Reigate (http://www.thefullhouse.co.uk/)
