Good Luck Boyz!

edited August 2010 in Poker Chat

A few "good luck" messages for today.

Firstly, the APAT WCOAP climaxes today, at DTD in Nottingham, over 400 runners entered the Main Event, with days 1A & 1b taking place on Saturday & Sunday, & the Final today, for which 59 players remain. The Fessie also included HORSE, Stud, Omaha, & 6-Max, & every Event sold out, & those who entered had to pay their entry fees FOUR MONTHS ago, such was the demand. Not surprising really, given that there are no reg fees, & every Event has Added value in the form of GUKPT seats etc. The HORSE also takes place today.

Amongst those who played the ME were Mr Hartigan Senior - James's Dad - & Rich Milner, he who runs the SPT, & all sorts of other Sky Poker stuff.

I've been up there for a few hours every day so far, (it began last Thursday) & I will be up there tonight, for the Final, for which I may do some commentary, & the Presentation.

Before that, I'm going up to Day 1A of the WPT London, which, most oddly & bizarrely, is taking place at the Palm Beach Casino in London.

It's the opening Event really in the "September Festival of Poker" in London. The idea is that I plan, & hope, to get up daily to ALL of the big Events in London in September (WPT, WSOP-E, EPO, EPT etc) to get material for Viva Las Vegas style photo-blogs for Sky Poker. We shall see, but that's the plan, & I start today, then zap up the M1 afterwards to Nottingham. I'm not sure if any Sky Poker regulars will be playing the London WPT, but if they are, I'll get some photos & stuff. I have purchased stakes in a few players throughout the London Fessie, including one today in the WPT, so I have a personal interest, too. If I bink, I'll let you know. ;)

Finally, good luck to a close friend of mine, & a man who appears in the chat rail on the Sky Poker Tables most nights, Racing Post columnist Graham Wheldon, aka Chompy.

He chopped the £300 GUKPT sidey at The Vic on Tuesday for £9,000, though one lucky fish had purchased 33% of his action for £100, & so scooped £3,000. MBN.

Today, he returns for Day Two of the £750 GUKPT at The Vic, for which about 120 players took part, & 20 remain, with about £30,000 up top. At 10pm last night he was near-felted, down to about 2 x BB with 1,200 chips. By close of play, he had 70,000! Neil Channing is still in that one, too. If Chomps could cash again, I'd be "quite pleased". For him, of course.

Good luck to all of them.
