Ok wasnt half stacking, had lost a big pot 2 or 3 hands before with 99 v 42os lol. The table was rather loose passive so thought loosening up a little and going aggressive would maybe win a few pots.

After hed called me pre i wanted to test my kicker, i was so easily out kicked.

Testing your kicker by putting half your stack in the middle doesn't sound like a good idea to me.

Your pre-flop raise is fine (you could have made it 32p I guess but that's nitpicking) and your post flop raise is also fine as long as you're doing it to put the rest of your chips in aswell, not to "find out" if your kicker is any good.
