Should I have folded?

edited September 2010 in The Poker Clinic
Just had this hand in TOT.

I think I played this badly.. I should really be folding the turn here right?

I called him and that was the sort of hand I expected him to have.. Should have followed my instincts!

Is this really bad play??

the only thing you could have done differently is to just flat the bet on the flop. that would have prevented you to get pot committed.

the fact he RR you may have alerted you that your op might have more than the potentially weaker ace you may have put your op on. the RR to me would have made me very cautious of something like a flopped set and, given the fact they called your over-RR would have slowed me right down, i prob wouldnt have shoved on the turn.

Once he called my re-raise on the flop and then bet the turn I think I should have given it up.. Early on and still would have been left with a playable stack.

Yeah could have just called his flop bet but was worried about potential draws.. He could have QJ or KJ.. So wanted him to pay to hit.

Think I should have got away from it. Oh well, learn from your mistakes I guess. :)

i think the initial re raise told ya he either had trips or two pair, (he wouldnt re - raise with ace king queen or jack)
Hard to get off cz Ace king is a hand you expect to win with but its the good hands pre flop which can really damage your stack
