First of all, thanks to everyone who entered the PLO tournament last night - especially the Omaha newcomers.  I think low buy-in tournies are a great way to discover this fabulous game and learn the fundamentals.  So, with that in mind, allow me to introduce...

The OmaHartigan League!

This will run on Monday nights for the next six weeks (Monday 20th September - Monday 25th October inclusive).  Each week, there'll be two special OmaHartigan tournaments (clearly labelled in the lobby):

19:10  £3.30  Pot Limit Omaha

21:25  £3.30  Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Lo

So, the league consists of twelve tournaments over six weeks.  Every time you play an OmaHartigan event, you'll earn 2 points.  If you finish in the top eight, you'll do better than that:

1st  20 points

2nd  16 points

3rd  14 points

4th  12 points

5th  10 points

6th  8 points

7th  6 points

8th  4 points

There'll be a league table, updated each week.  At the end of October, the player at the top of the table will be declared the victor. There's a fantastic prize for the winner - and pretty good prizes for the runners up:

Finish third in the league...  You'll get free entry into the Thursday night Bounty Hunter.

Finish second in the league...  You'll be gifted a virtual seat in Primo on a Sunday.

Finish at the top of the league...  You'll receive free entry to a Sky Poker Tour live event!!!

Tempted?  How can you not be?!?  It doesn't matter if you've never played Omaha before.  You can learn "on the go," have some fun and potentially win yourself an SPT seat.

As an aside, can we assume there will be a prize equivalent to a Blackpool entry fee, as a few regulars might have already made it by the time this ends, and it will be full by then too!

Ah, I should have clarified!  It'll be a seat to another leg of the tour. Obviously, I appreciate it will be too late for Blackpool.

Good stuff - I'll be playing as many as I can.

This will get the numbers up for a while at least.  Sky hsd consider running more leagues for the regulars instead of letting them do it themselves in my opinion, especially for the lesser played tournaments/formats

I think I'll have a go, I will probably only be able to make the hi-lo ones and have no idea how to play but like you say James the whole point is for people to learn and with those prizes on offer, how can you not have a stab?
