Talking about a hand with it still in process

Is this against the rules online or just frowned on? I saw a hand where a person was allin, and said he had a pair on flop, then when turn came down a second nine, announced he had trips. This led to an allin bet which was called by a player who had the remaining nine- obviously making their call infinitely easier.

Obviously it's bad form, but is it against the rules- and what's the procedure? I mentioned that it's a bit off to discuss hands while in progress, and his response was to again announce he had a pair on the next flop, though not allin this time.

i played an mtt last week i shoved as i was short and a guy who was about 3 positions away said oooh i have kk which made it alot easier for the other 2 to act!!!!

i had 1010 and lost i didnt mind as i had already pressed all in.

It can be frustrating if by them revealing their hand (truth or not) can lead to you not winning as much chips/money off someone else who could still put money into the pot, but decides not to due to what they've been told. Heads up it's completely different.

the difference here is, it didn't affect him since he had nothing to gain- all his chips were in the middle. He was simply commenting on what he had, which ultimately affected the hand in progress- not his chances, but the decisions of those still playing which is poor form at best in my opinion.

I'm just wondering what the official ruling is on that? He was clearly an inexperienced or foolish player, since he went out with a straight against a flush (all the money went in with 3 diamonds clearly showing) and when the flush was shown and he was knocked out, he started going on about typical sky bs etc etc... you know the drill!

i was under the impression it was against the rules to say what your hand is because it could be considered collusion.

I know in live casinos it can get you in trouble for sure, talking about your hand if it affects the hand will (in MTTs) result in a single orbit penalty from the dealer, I think. Not sure how that translates to online, but I know I'd be massively annoyed if a bluff gets trashed thanks to someone revealing their hand midway.

i played in a hand online where i had AA, 10 handed table. it was a while ago so cant remember who was in which positions etc. basically during the play of the hand the flop was 448, a player who had folded stated that they had a 4 in there hand, turn brought 4, guy says how he would of had quads, river is an A, 1 player goes all-in and i obviously call with full house aces full of fours, all-in player had AK... after a few XXXXXXXXXXXX in the chat box the losing player said that i should not of called as i knew he didn't have a 4 and that made me just as bad as the the player who told us his hand...
