Live game scenario

edited September 2010 in The Poker Clinic
I am playing the local clubs monthly £75 deepstack, I have about 24k in chips average is 21, blinds 150/300.

UTG (loose donk.. Lets call him player A) raises to 900, it folds to me in the cut-off, the player next to me (a regular, not a very good player, plays because he has the money and to socialise rather than to win... Lets call him Player B) acts out of turn and calls the 900.. I look down and see AKcc I raise it up to 2,500 Player B calls, the blinds fold and playerA calls also.

Flop 4,5,6 rainbow (1 club FWIW)

Player A checks, I lead out 3,300, player B then snap shoves for 10500.
Player A folds and its left to me, 7k to call into a pot of 22k and I currently have about 18k left.

What do yu do?

Once you cbet you have to call imo.

I wouldn't bet flop though fwiw.

Fold, you have 6 outs at best. And if you fold you still have 18k at 150-300 so can wait for a better situation.
    Dont bet flop tho

    Pretty horrible board to cbet.

7k is a lot of chips.  You can find a better spot to use them in.

Dont bet flop with that board! Fold when he shoves he has no reason to bluff here when ur betting looks like u have and overpair. (Which u dont but u would bet the same with j j ryt??) I would say he has hit a str8 set or two pair, i doubt that move is made with A6

I'm suprised you are all saying not to bet... IMO I have taken the lead in the hand by 3bettting pre, they know im not the kind of player to be doing that light, it has also checked to me on a dry board, this to me looks like a great chance to take the pot down there and then...??

AK has show down value here.

Considering your reads we aren't getting the villain off much that beats us.  Just because your image is tight, doesn't mean that a 'not a very good casual player who doesn't care about the money' will pick up on this.

fwiw i'd also 3bet more pre.

It's a fold here Charles (because im a nit) yo have got a lot in but as 5tone said you've only got 6 outs at best. Player B has an over pair to the board, thats why he was so quick to call in the 1st place and why he has called your 2500 three bet. I wouldn't C-bet this flop the way the hand has gone vs two opponents, you could have saved yourself 3,300 chips, fold and still have plenty to take it down!

3 bet bigger feel happier stacking off with overs + fe.

as is check flop, stab players/floor staff in eyes if they don't let you get there or showdown the winner !!!

Bah, posted earlier but apparently didn't?! :-/

Can only see you having 6 outs at best here, and every likelihood you have lest. Don't think he has the made straight but the worst you're up against is the straight draw, so you're either a very marginal favourite (if he has A7, giving him 11 outs) to a massive dog/drawing dead to a runner runner flush. Can't see how this is ever going to be worth 7k to win 22k, you need at least 32% against his range and I really don't think you have that.

Personally on a board that low, I'd have been more inclined to check and see what the other player does, there's a chance one of them has connected with some kind of suited connector hole cards and if you think about it, calling a shove is too much. But the bet certainly has merit as far as finding out where you are though rather than giving up, unfortunately you found out where you were and the answer is a mile behind. Can't call.

Well anyways.... I made the call, the reason being I know player B can be spewy, I am getting fed up of dwindling my stack away in live games and just wanted a gamble at having a big stack, if I lost I still had 30+ blinds.

He flipped over 7,9 for the up and down draw and my A high held to put me on 45k
