xxxits always happening to me get called every street by a donk and get merked on the river starting to get a joke when i play higher levels same happens you need to sort this card ratio out to many bad beats when you got massive hands!

Okay on the turn he has 19 outs to beat you.

9 spades.

3 non spade 5's

3 non spade 9's

2 more 6's

2 more non spade 8's.

9 + 3 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 19.

There's roughly a 2.2% chance of each individual card hitting.

19 x 2 = 38%

So the guy will win the pot around 40% of the time. (so he needs 6/4 on his money to make it the correct call)

It's going to cost him £1.22 to win £3.22, so he's getting nearly 3/1 on his money, to hit a 6/4 shot. If he keeps getting his money in with those odds, he will be a winning player. Fact.

So he is easily getting the right price to make the call. It's a good call, if he believes all his outs are live.

Unlucky.

Exactly - that's why good players make a profit in the long run on here.  The bad players make bad reads such as in this case - but you just gotta accept they catch sometimes

In the hand above, the guy has made the correct read, for whatever reason, it doesn't matter, we can't control what people do.......All we can do is make sure we play well.

If the guy saw your hand (which is the idea, to make plays based on what you think your opponents are holding) then he would have made the call on the turn.

You got your money in good, although only a marginal favourite, if you keep doing this, you will win in the long run.
