    What tournament is it?

Can't see any other move than to just make the blinds up really......standard.

U have 150xbb stack, as do your opponents, if you hit, you can get paid big, no need to fold, no need to raise either.

This would be better off in the clinic too, for a more balanced range of opinions.

    Any notes/info on the limpers?

    "I call"

Fold pre. A despicable filth hand like a-2 os has you at a 52.7% disadvantage.  P.S don't tell other players this as most wont understand  .............. you know what i mean ;)

Yeh I did mis-read, but I still just limp in. Plenty deep enough to speculate, rather than play a big pot OOP against passive stations.

This is why u shud post the hands here. Within 2 replies you have got yourself 2 different points of view, and no doubt many more will follow (probably dis-agreeing with me)

I suspect this may be a dym though, as your last one was?

Give more detail and get better replies.

limp or raise. if you have info on your oppos then raise is fine if you dont then just complete.

if it's a dym deffo complete.

This, dont get how you have put big pp in opponents ranges when they have only limped & called small raise. I personally think you are ahead so shove, AQ likely to have raised pre
  • edited October 2010
lol raise with a view to shipping in a freeroll, then laugh when someone calls you with bottom pair. Cry when they hit trips.

Seriously, unless perhaps someone has luckboxed massive and got K10 perhaps, you're not losing to any hand in their range. Raise it up, if someone comes along with a reraise, ship it without a moment's thought. If they call, jam the turn with any card other than an A, in which case you might want to stop and think for a moment.

so i put in a pot size bet, 1 caller, what do you put my opponent on now, i guessed a bad king or ace

Bet 700, who knows with freerolls if they playing properly maybe ace 10, or q 10 or something along that lines could have Bad king. Im betting 700 to get it in on river regardless even if ace comes as in theory bare ace they shouldnt still be in pot on river
  • edited October 2010
for me I just jam the turn and hope it looks weak, if they've got any part of that board they'll probably look you up, if they call with A high and bink on the end- so be it.

Don't even contemplate subtlety in the early stages of a freeroll, and I wouldn't really advise it at any stage. If you have a genuine hand, bet the maximum and as soon as the pot looks hefty enough, shove it all in and hope you get called by a naff hand.

You seem to be a very cautious gentleman.
I think the best idea is to phone up dohhhhhhh during tourneys or have him on msn. This will save you endless analytical headaches and you could split the winnings.
I hope you find this useful.

i would bet ~300 on the flop which would leave you with 2.5k effective stacks and a pot of 1080.
i would bet ~700 on turn leaving stacks of 1.8k and a pot of 2.5k. then i would jam the vast majority of rivers.

ace on turn, possible str8 now, but i have a gut shot

still going for a bad king or bad ace for opponent, and a bit miffed he might have hit his ace, so i bet the pot to show strength, hoping to scare him off, he calls again.

at this point im still ahead, and opponent has 3 outs to win(he may think he has 6 but i have one of them and the other 2 give me a win), if i have his hand i fold

Oppo has J10? Closest I can think with those odds, although that's still wrong- did you calculate the odds right? If he's paired anything there he's got 5 cards minimum to hit unless he has a K or Q, in which case he's drawing incredibly thin. Bad play by him, but what do you expect in a freeroll?

Obviously he binked the Q on river, hard luck+gg. Can't blame you for anything you did, this is why freerolls are so easy and difficult- bet when you got the goods and hope you don't get sucked out on, but don't be surprised when you do- get called light enough and you'll be sucked out on, it's the nature of poker.

he had pocket jacks and a queen rivered giving him a str8 and me 2 pair, i would like to know his/her betting strategy, like does he think the jacks are leading when i bet 480 with a king high flop(ok i may make that call)? then does he still think jacks are good when i bet 1440 on the turn and the board has an ace and king(i fold here with his hand) , plus a st8 draw there. My theory is that some/alot of players can only see there own hands and not what others might have, i reckon he never even knew he had a gut shot and was just chasing a 2 outer jack for his trips
