PL Omaha cash questions:

edited October 2010 in The Poker Clinic
1) How high should you rate AA??? Should it be C-bet to any flop which doesnt have a possible made straight on it?

2) When dealt two pocket pairs should it be a max raise pre flop?

3) When dealt 4 cards of the same suit should it be an instant fold?

4) Are aces any good if u dont hold atleast another card of the same suit?

5) how do u deal with a player who raises every flop regardless?

Im not new to the game but i believe these to be my weak points and would like some help

    1) Not at all. AAxx is the most overplayed and overrated starting hand in omaha and gets a lot of people into trouble. It should be played cautiously because ideally you want to drawing as close to the nuts as possible so unless an Ace comes you are probably behind and even if it does a set is rarely good enough so you will need to look to house up.

2)Depends on what they are.  9922 rainbow is a limp at best whereas  JJTT ds is a definate raise with the potential straights and flushes available.

    3) Again depends. If it is a hand like 89TJ then it is worth playing the hand for your straightening potential but you must be ready to ignore all possible flush draws because you have 2 of your outs in your hand.

4)The main key to judging your starting hand is the number of nut drawing hands you have and not the strength of the individual ones.

    5) Limit your calling range to 3+ nut drawing hands. This is because the more nut drawing hands you have the more chance you have of hitting the flop and therefore the more chance you have of winning the pot.
