With these notes in mind i had this hand against him, im not sure if odds where correct for me to call flop and should i have re raised more pre?? I know i won this one but that was purely on reads is this a losing play in long run?? (i think it is thats why i posted in clinic)

I c bet flop, rep the queen, its not a bad flop to c bet. Readless i fold turn, but with the reads you have its a snap call surely if they always over bet pot when bluffing? although because of stack size maybe they wud shove for value?
  • edited October 2010
yeah that was in back of my mind on the shove tbh i think this was played badly even with the reads.
And if i c-bet the flop and he shoves can i ever call?
  • edited October 2010
cbet flop or c/f. i think c/c is the worst option.

cheers offshoot thanks for advice. If i c - bet flop and he comes over the top can i ever make that call with the notes i have?
  • edited October 2010

    this

I think c/fing is the worst option tbh. snap call turn.

played good imo (make it slightly more pre) c/c is cool as is cbettin. situation/player dependant really (with the notes u have i think c/c is best option tbh). as played snap turn

c bet flop - continuation bet on the flop after raising pre-flop

rep the queen - represent the queen, bet as though you have it etc.

shove pre flop - push allin before the flop

limp - just calls the big blind instead of raising/folding

c-bet the flop and he shoves can i ever call? - if they put a continuation bet in on the flop can they call if the other guy goes allin.

    cbettin - same as c-bet

    c/fing - check/folding

jamming - pushing all in, (i think)

    Hi,

Sorry I have no advice but seeking some answers from this, I am a new player to Sky Poker and not played for long.

Sorry if this is such a newbie question but I am looking through some of these forum posts and would like help with some of the jargon, slang and shortened words for the Poker plays e.g:-

    c bet flop
    rep the queen
    shove
    pre flop limp raise

c-bet the flop and he shoves can i ever call?
    cbettin
    c/fing
    jamming

    Thanks in advance

I did try but nothing real easy for self explanations came up.  And I thought from someone who has maybe been where I have when they started could put some simple answers!

C bet flop - Continuation bet on flop

Rep the queen - Represent having the queen in your hand

Shove pre flop - Go all in pre flop (AIPF)

Limp raise c-bet the flop - call initial 1 xbb to enter pot, raise opponents pre flop bet, continue showing strength by betting on the flop whether you have hit or not.

    C/fing - Check/folding
    Jamming - All in
