question

edited October 2010 in Poker Chat
raised from earlyposition with QQ, short stack shoved for small amount more, big blind called shove.

Only options then available to me on the screen were call or fold, no option available to re-raise or shove myself. Is there a reason for this???

Shoved post flop and took pot down, so no damage done to my game.

The reason for this is that the reraise by the short stack was an under raise, that is less than your original raise.

No, his all-in was more than my original raise.

The all-in was re-raise, BB has more chips again, should I not be able to re-re-raise??
  • edited October 2010
The min re-raise was 400 (since you made it 600 at 100/200). If his shove had been for 1000 then you'd have been ok to re-raise, but because his raise was 60 short of the min you could only call.

Thanks for that explanation, and to Talon. Sorry, I didn't get it the first time and still think its daft but I guess its the rules. Learn something new every day.

The avatar, that's a minor character from a couple of 80's movies.

Nobody seems to have recognised 'Donk' from Crocodile Dundee. It was obviously far to subtle. lol
