Blackpool - Another Great SPT Event
First of all very many congratulations to all those who cashed, with a very well done to Brownndog (even though you took me out with your 10 10 against my K K). Unlucky Mike and Dai.
Blackpool is not my favourite place, but the casino was a terrific venue and the tournament was run extremely professionally, so thank you to all the casino staff who made it a most enjoyable day.
The Sky staff performed to their usual very high standard, working tirelessly in the background. Many thanks to them as always.
As usual the comaraderie amongst all was tremendous and this adds to the pleasure of the whole occassion.
Roll on the next one!

First time for me and the wife (cheryl222) had a great time and great to put faces to the names, very nice to meet you to dollie a true gent unlucky you just miss out on the cash, met TK and had lisa-marie and glitterbabe on my table glitterbabe was having fun raising me off a hand with 72 ! didn't expect to get far as iv not had two much real table play but found the casino dealers very helpful, a very enjoyable experience cant wait for the next one well done sky and the team
Don't know why he wouldn't chop when I had 50K and he had 600K. Doesn't he know live poker is fixed?

Congratulations to Browndog on the win. Huge congrats to Mike1975 for his 3rd place I know how chuffed he was and it was well deserved well done Mike!!! Well done also to Rospink on cashing aswell - great achievement.
Was great to catch up with the regular SPT people and meet some new faces along the way. Always good to put faces to names and meet new people which is what makes the SPT events so much fun.
Already really looking forward to the net leg in Newcastle in January - bring it on!!!
it was another great day, i have enjoyed every spt i have been too, this one was a bit more special of course
it is always fun meeting up with all the regulars and i would like to thank everyone that railed me on the ft including the amazing jamielou xx, amarie, maxally, solar, sian and the rest of the Rochdale mob, sorry if i missed anyone.
i have to give Dantb10 a mention for being a top guy and taking a sick bad beat with dignity.
also paul (pool8) for being so damn funny on the rail
and of course well done to brownndog who really was a different class on the ft.
I second everything Dollie said. The Casino was great, the staff were amazingly well organised, Sky Staff were helpful & friendly, the update thread was as up to date as anyone could have wanted - Amazing job as always by Rich. It was an all-round fantastic day. Only downside was the issues with the microphone meaning no commentary - but why do we all want to hear Tikays voice so much?!
Obviously Mike coming 3rd made the day :-), he played the whole game so well and truly deserved his spot on the Final Table, and without being too biased, so did Lewis aka Brownndog, he took a couple of big hits on the final table but never gave up.
Quote of the day - Pool8 to Daiboot "He's not listening to music, he's listening to sheep!! Bahhhh!" Had the whole card room filled with laughter!

Yeah, what a weekend. Well done Lewis on taking it down and well done to everyone who made the Final table. Looking foward to the next one, mite stay off the beer, wo feeling rough Saturday after a late 1 in the casino Friday.
Highlight - Ben coming in at 7.30am Sunday morning after Dan took his key, kicking off that he looked under every plant pot in the garden to get in hotel and spent 2 hours outside - dan just rolled over and went back to sleep
Probably not going to be at newcastle, but looking forward to the next SPT after that for sure!
Can't wait for Nottingham - hope to see you all there

Banter was amazing as always, just like to say cheers to nutter for starting me on double vodkas i felt great the next day and enjoyed my 6 hour drive home FML.............

Finally recovered on what was again a great weekend. These events are just fantastic, where else can you meet so many top top people, obv too many to name but you know who you all are!!!!
Well done Lewis you played a great game and really are a credit to skypoker and I too would love to see you on the team.. Timing is everything in poker and I'm pretty sure I would have ran deeper until I got moved off your table, I enjoyed 3 betting you for fun lol.....and sorry to Maxally for making his life a nightmare the pictures prove it after 3b shoving him twice when I knew he had me down as last the longest!!! I really did have AK and AQ though,,,

I have to second the comments made above about the tournament, excellently run event again and was very nice to get into the money, particularly having bubbled in Manchester, must be something about travelling over the pennines!!

Sorry guys, just spent an hour doing a 'mini blog' on my week end experiences but forgot to save it and got logged out! Grrrrrrr.
Just to reiterate everything that has been said already on this thread though.....great event, well done to all who cashed esp Lewis, Mike and Dai. Also well done to Phil (loki) on winning the later tourney on Saturday. Many thanks goes to all the casino staff and all the Sky Poker staff in running a great day.
Cheers also to all TSP but esp Wayne and Lisa who I did spend a few hours with on the tables and learned a few things (Q2, piff, and reshove FTW, lol)
I suppose I better say well done to Tikay in taking down the Frid tourney....sigh

Just wanna say a big thx to Sky for making it a gr8 day and congrats to Browndogg.
I didn,t cash but got my moneys worth of entertainment and finished in 23rd or 24th. I thought I played well until my exit hand. I had been on table 4 for the whole game until we got down to about 30 and the table was split up.
Went on to table 1 and made a few chips on a nice bluff and was considering tightening right up and laddering for the cash, but if i,d done that I would have been to short stacked to give myself a chance of winning and after playing on the same table as dantb10 for about 6 hours (unlucky Dan - you were looking good after a shaky start) I was feeling quitely confident. Then while holding AQ on the BB I was waiting for some callers to shove on, but as it folded round to me (almost 5k with antes) the SB shoved with a similar stack to myself (about 20-25k) . I put him on a middle pair at best as he had played a cpl of hands in the short time I had been on that table and made the call to see him flip over AK. That was me out
I don,t play live much but its the longest i,ve ever played in a live game and will reflect on this game as a great learning experience.
For example don,t start drinking at 11am as by 8pm I was on coffees with a banging headache and don,t lose nearly 2k in chips in blinds and antes by getting back from breaks to late. I was almost half an hour late for the start as well . I know a lot of pros do this , but i,m no pro and this structure is not big enough to do that. I felt i missed out on half an hour of just sitting there and trying to get reads on ppl
All in all, a really enjoyable day and picked up some very valuable lessons
