It must have been almost a year to the day that Bryan and i were out for a spin in our belovedTriumph Dolomite Sprint.Suddenly from nowhere, we were attracted to a bright orange light in the clear ,but dark night sky. What could it possibly be?.Like a couple of rabbits in headlights we were totally transfixed. We both agreed instantly that we had no option but to follow this light to wherever it led us.Confused, yet excited we almost broke our necks looking out of our car windows in order not to lose this orange mystery of the night.
And tonight, one year on as we stepped outside our modest 3 bedroom attached humble abode,we were yet again met with the very same image.
Of course we are now one year wiser ,and were no longer "gravy kid "like followers of this now obvious £1.99 common garden Chinese lantern.
Now pokerers, you must be wondering where Bryan and i are going with this modern day poker parable .
On sitting down that night one year ago ,after getting out of the police station in the very early hours,we realised how foolish we had been to chase the unknown ,when the risk over reward were way off balance.,
As it as been said by many poker professionals over the years, that poker indeed does mirror life experiences.
That said night one year ago,Bryan and i were just in our salad days of poker, chasing any old flush or straight till the early morning hours.
We weren't clued up on pot odds and the likes, and often followed our noses blind till our sad demise on these very skypoker tables.
Chasing lanterns that night, and the subsequent trouble with the police, really wisened us up, and we did grow to realise from that day on, that fishing in poker rarely pays off long term,as indeed did chasing lanterns that were not now ,and ever worth the chase.Have a lovely evening, yours Bryan and i

Good stuff Bryan. Brunson's and Harrington's words were ok in their day but poker players now need to think from the leftfield.

If you could share more of this new-wave thought with us then it would be most appreciated.

    Cheers - bandinis.
