Help With My Cash Play :)

edited November 2010 in The Poker Clinic
Hello my lovelies .. Right ive been playing cash for just around maybe a year now .. I class myself as not too bad but im requiring some help on certain hands i play .... Ive always learnt from the guys on sky not too limp into hands whatever they may be ... I always play my AA .. KK .. AK .. QQ .. JJ ... very strongly but its these other hands im having serious problems with pre flop .... Ok il give and example, I have 78 suited or a smallish pair 66 77 88 55  in middle position so i stick in a 3x raise to 80p ... ( 10p 20p blinds) My problems are coming wen im 3 bet either by the button or by one of the blinds .. Do i call ??? or should i just fold ???? Yes im likely to be in position but surely this is a losing play in the long term aspect of the game ??? Ok second point when you do raise with these suited connectors or small pairs and you get maybe just one caller what sought of flop are we definately continuation betting ?? if i have 66 and the flop comes K Q 9 is it really worth puttting a c bet out ??? The same when i have maybe 89 Suited and the board coming A J 2 .. C betting i always here is a must but surely a lot of people calling a raise pre flop are fairly likely to have caught this flop ... I know my question may be fairly standard to a lot of you very good players but im just finding myself losing a fair few small pots with these hands ... i know position and the opponent have a lot to do with it too .... Any help would be of great help .. Kind Regards DLo :)

i fold connectors and small pockets to 3 bets, if your both deep then you can peel your position is important, as for c-bets you really have to think about the texture of the board, if you are c-betting with air you want a fold so draw heavy boards aint great coz they can peel with a ton of hands, dry boards like A72 RB K94 RB im C-betting nearly 100% in hu pots, if you do hit a piece of the flop you can chk it back if its vulnerable to make it to sd you can bet for value or protection depending on b texture and player type
