was he pot committed??

edited November 2010 in The Poker Clinic
hi, please can I have your thoughts on this hand. It's from a 5.50 dym. The villian shoved on my re-raise claiming he was pot committed, he only raised 1/4 of his stack and would have had 10 bb's left had he folded. was he committed?? i know my ak wasn't a massive fav but surely he should have folded? or was he right to shove?? opinions please

Daft raise by the villain in my opinion with that hand even with 13 bigs I wouldn't be commiting there. I think you were just unlucky in the race post-flop and if I'm seeing it correctly only a J could save him after the flop unless he got a lucky runner runner. A 4 outer (at the most)...doh!

Not sure whether I'd fold AK pre-flop or not, probably not really and you were right to do it to be honest, just a very lucky villain.
